Sunday

We'll have a short Troop devotion service at 8am. After that, you are encouraged to go to church either locally or back to your home church.

Tenting Arrangements

Families should plan on reserving their own site (or sharing with another family) to sleep and cook. Hawk and Mountain Lion Trailmen are encouraged to tent together as a patrol, if allowed by the parent.

Trail Life USA insurance does not cover family camping. Any non-member siblings coming on the campout will need special permission from the Troop.

Cooking arrangements

Everyone should bring and prepare meals as a family for Saturday breakfast and lunch and Sunday breakfast.

We are planning to have a meal together as a Troop for Saturday dinner.

What are we gonna do?

There are three main events for the weekend - learning about maps and compasses, a hike, and an emergency shelter challenge. Other than that, Trailmen will have lots of free time to spend time with Dad (or Mom) and/or their fellow Trailmen.

Step 3 - Map Skills Trailmen will learn some basic features of a map and how to read a map.

Hiking Saturday morning is our hike. We are planning a 2-5 mile hike. Please bring appropriate footware, bugspray, water bottle, etc..

Challenge Saturday afternoon is our emergency shelter challenge. Don't worry, we're not dropping Trailmen out in the middle of nowhere! This will be a fun and lighthearted activity to learn a little about

A special note about swimming

Any swimming must be under the supervision of the parent.

What to pack

Please use the Trailman Campout Checklist for packing adequate gear.

Parents/guardians should use the Campout Cooking Checklist for meal preparation.
