Empathize
Our project addresses the students at Cyprus University of Technology irrespective of all genders. The issue is with people around 18 to 26 years old who are in the cafeteria at the central university area, they have snacks and coffee and pollute this area with their irresponsible behaviour of not taking care of their own rubbish. They do not care about the workers of the cafeteria and the rest of the customers. In addition, these people can be described as thoughtless and childish because they rely on someone else to do what they are supposed to do. They do not seem to care about the environmental crisis or the high levels of pollution in this area. They are not sensitive enough to understand the consequences of their actions and the negative impact they create on the image and reputation of the place they spend so many hours daily.
.
Define
Imagine 500 hundred students every day in and out of the university cafeteria leaving their trash on the tables, on the chairs and even on the floor. The bins are full and small, and they are unsuitable fit all their waste. This means that irresponsible ones throw their rubbish anywhere. The university cafeteria is the only place on campus for students to chill and relax in between courses, but because of this situation, the area around the cafeteria is polluted. This also means that there is no recycling of paper, plastics, and glass bottles. This situation is ruining the university’s image to the outside world. Due to the central position of the university, this situation reflects poorly on the public.

Final Idea
Our final idea is centered around a debate. In the area where lots of university students gather, we will set up two boxes as bins, each bin will represent a different position on a debate. A poster will accompany the two bins describing the debate. One side of the debate will be about the word “κρεππα” and the other about the word “κρεπα’. These are two versions of the Greek word crepe. The students will choose which version of the word is their preferred by placing their rubbish in the corresponding bin.
