It's been a very slimy week in Lower School, with both Nursery and Reception learning all about slimy snails! 🐌
Nursery went on a snail hunt around the school, luckily someone had spotted some on their walk to school so they knew all the best places to look! Nursery also found lots of other minibeasts on their adventures!
Nursery have been very creative making snail pictures using foam dabbers and.... a salad spinner! They put their chosen colours into the spinner and looked at the patterns they created, it was so much fun! Nursery read the story 'A snail trail: In search of a modern masterpiece!' and then created their own art work inspired by Matisse's snail art.
Reception also went on a snail hunt, they found a snail and took it back to class to observe what it did. They made sure it went back to where they found it so it could be reunited with its family 🐌😍
Reception had some gloopy fun making patterns in the slime, pretending they were snails leaving a trail! 🐌 They also had a go at making snails and swirls on a whiteboard with a blindfold!
