The year 2026 marks the beginning of an era for Lindsey Wilson Athletics as Flag Football is officially added to athletics. Coach Chris Raggard slides into the driver's seat of the first year program coming from Pace High School in Pace, Florida where he led the Patriots to a 70-22 record in his six years as well as a district and regional championship in spring of 2024.
When talking about impactful players, Coach Raggard noted his starting quarterback, Amaya Pablo. Pablo is a 5-3 freshman quarterback out of Pace, Florida who can double as a wide receiver when put in the position.
Tyria Tanner is a dual athlete at Lindsey Wilson with a basketball background. Tanner, a junior, is a 5-7 wide receiver and linebacker who Raggard said will make her impact on the defensive side of the ball with her agility and speed.
Jade Mazziotta sits on both sides of the ball and is the only player to be in a starting slot on the offensive and defensive side. Mazziotta is a 5-6 junior, coming from Warner University (Fla.) who triples as a wide receiver, center, and defensive back for the Blue Raiders this season.
With flag football being a first year program for LWU, Coach Raggard has set high standards for the team and expects to “come to compete every single day, learn from our mistakes, and establish our programs’ culture.”
When asked about kicking off the season and what he is excited for, Coach Raggard stated, “I think I am most excited to see these girls get to play against other schools. We are playing some first year and second year programs, along with a few more established programs, so it will be good to see where we stack up.”
