Ysgol Tir Morfa - Newsletter Friday 14th March 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

All the pupils have been enjoying the sunshine this week! Some of the pupils have also had the opportunity to try new sporting activities. Pupils from Dosbarth Aled and Dosbarth Tegid tried out the new iGames facility at Prestatyn Sports Centre with Denbighshire Leisure and Dosbarth Findeg and Dosbarth Tryfan had a fantastic enrichment opportunity through the King’s Trust Achieve Programme to use the facilities at the Boardroom Climbing Centre in Connah’s Quay.

It was lovely to hear all the musicians who provided a wonderful Welsh Opera multi-sensory session for Dosbarth Enfys and Dosbarth Seren this morning.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Susan H. Roberts

Headteacher

Our Week at Tir Morfa
Alwen have been out and about looking for wheels this week to start there new topic on movement off.
A great, fun morning at Boardroom climbing wall for pupils in Dosbarth Findeg. Many thanks to the Achieve team at the Kings Trust for the opportunity.
This week Dosbarth Tegid have been taking part in Treasure hunts around the school grounds.
Learners in Famau have been looking out for the first signs of Spring
Dosbarth Enfys have been exploring India through a range of sensory stimuli.
Tryfan have really benefited from their connection with The King's Trust this week. Alison from Kings Trust visited with her hearing dogs and brought us gifts for the garden, then we went to a climbing experience at the Boardroom also organised by Kings Trust. Learners were commended on their politeness, enthusiasm and bravery.
This week Dosbarth Haul enjoyed using balloons to print some tree pictures. We chose our colours, explored the balloons by squeezing them and pressing them down on the paper. We had lots of fun!
We walked to Sainsbury's to give the manager Claire a surprise card that we had made. It was to say thank you for the cakes she donated for us to sell.
As part of their leisure experiences Aled enjoyed trying the new igames facility this week at Prestatyn sports centre. We will definitely go back again!!
Dosbarth Tegid made scrambled eggs for breakfast this week! They followed a visual schedule to sequence the activity and thoroughly enjoyed their meals!!
A fantastic start to our new topic ‘What a Wonderful World’ in Seren.
