Tipping Guidelines- Gratuities to your Tour Director and Driver are not included in the vacation price. While the amount of these gratuities will depend upon your degree of satisfaction for services received, many of our clients have asked us for general tipping guidelines. If not already pre-paid, for a good job, we suggest: Tour Director $8 per tour day, per tour member, (Which for your vacation amounts to $72.00 per person). Driver $4 per tour day, per tour member, (Which for your vacation amounts to $36.00 per person). It is also customary to tip Local Guides for a very good service. See the chart below for standard tipping amounts for restaurants, taxis and room service Restaurants: Where the service charge is already included, round up the check/bill by the equivalent of a few Dollars to show appreciation. Tips are usually left in cash, not added to the credit card payment. Taxis: If possible, pre-negotiate taxi fares to avoid unpleasant surprises at the end of your journey. Hotel taxes, service charges and tips for baggage handling are included in the vacation price. It is customary to tip hotel staff for room service. If ice machines are not available and you get ice from the bar, a small tip to the bartender is appreciated.
Accessibility- Certain activities or venues may be limited or inaccessible to you if your mobility is limited in any manner. Many excursions and sightseeing involve extended periods of walking and standing often on uneven pavement or surfaces, and may include staircases, paths, walkways, or locations that are narrow or inaccessible or of limited accessibility by wheelchair. You are responsible for assessing if the itinerary is suitable for all participants on the reservation.
Prior to Travel- Bring medication in its original container, along with a written prescription in generic form for emergency refills. Medical devices may require an international adapter/converter. Notify the airline if you plan to bring one on board (e.g., CPAP machines). Confirm your cell phone works internationally, check rates for Israel, and explore apps like WhatsApp for communication. ATMs are available, but you’ll receive only local currency. Notify your bank or credit card company if you plan to make purchases with your debit or credit card. Ensure your bank offers zero foreign transaction fees. ATM usage may incur fees and daily withdrawal limits. The amount of cash you bring is personal, but smaller bills are recommended. Credit cards from the U.S. are widely accepted in Israel, especially in major cities, hotels, restaurants, and shops. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are the most commonly used. However, it's always a good idea to carry some cash for smaller businesses, markets, or places that may not accept cards.
