Tuesday Blobaum Aspiring Journalist

A little about me

I got my name, Tuesday, from the late actress Tuesday Weld because my mother was an actress and wanted to remember her former profession. I was born in a small city along the southeast coast of China and came to the United States in 2006. I am an only child but I have a Maltipoo named Cleo who I consider my little sister. I have moved all over the country but currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia. One of my favorite things to do is go around the city and try new foods and markets of all cultures.

Background and Education

I moved to Atlanta, Georgia late October 2010. I attended six different schools over the course of my twelve required years. I am grateful to my family for all the opportunities they have given me including all the changes. I believe that moving around constantly helped spark my interest in others who have different backgrounds and beliefs from me.

Career Beginnings

Ever since I was little, I have always found the good in people. Growing up I have engaged with a wide range of diverse populations from various countries, religions, and beliefs. I truly believe that no matter what position you are in life, you have a story. The way your story is told is crucial. Being someone who not only displays compassion but can connect and make you feel heard and that you matter is key to getting a good story. I feel I possess all these characteristic and it's something I do on a daily basis. This helped form my decision on my major.

MY hopes for the future

I'm working very hard to earn my bachelor's degree here at KSU, keeping up my 4.0 GPA. I plan to graduate early and then apply for my master's degree at either New York University or Columbia University. As I dive deeper into classes specific to journalism, I am convinced I chose the right major. I could see myself being content in this profession for years and look for opportunities to grow even further.
