Game 2 took a bit of late-inning magic. Trailing 2-0 entering the 6th, Colby plated solo runs in the 6th, 7th, and 8th to pull out the 3-2 win.

Cole Palmeri

In two games with Williams College, Colby used 26 hits to the tune of 28 runs to end each matchup early. Under the lights Tuesday night on Mayflower Hill the Mules made history finding the back of the net 30 times in the lopsided affair against the Mariners for the most goals in a game. Colby kicked off the game with seven goals in the opening quarter for a five point lead which only continued to grow until the final buzzer and scoreline of 30-5.

"Colby Women’s Tennis had a successful week in Atlanta for spring break. It was a great bonding trip for the team and we competed well against two of the best teams in the nation. We were really close to pulling off an upset against #14 Sewanee. We are now ready for our NESCAC competition from here on out!" - Head Coach Erin Reeves

The 4-2 Mules will stay on the road for their next four games starting with two conference opponents in Amherst and Hamilton this weekend.

Men’s Tennis Competes in Four Matches over Spring Break in California

In the first of four games, the Mules defeated Occidental College 6-3 in LA starting with Jake Cohen and Sam Henry taking a close doubles victory in the one spot 8(9) - 7(7). Joey Barrett

The Mules fell to Redlands 5-2 and Chapman 8-1, where Sandeep Alapati took singles wins in both, before the team competed in a tough battle with Caltech. Despite taking four of the six singles matchups against the Beavers, the Mules took a tough 5-4 loss.

"We had a fun spring break trip to California. The team got to spend a lot of time together and it definitely brought us closer as a group. We didn't get the results we wanted but we learned some great lessons on where we need to continue to get better as a team. We are excited to hopefully apply those lessons to the rest of our NESCAC schedule this month and look forward to finishing the season strong."

Men’s Tennis, with an even 4-4 record, will now compete in conference play the rest of the season starting with hosting Amherst and Hamilton next weekend.

Crew Begins Spring Season with Training Trip in Georgia

The Colby Men’s and Women’s Crew teams headed to Gainesville, Georgia for their first opportunity since the fall season to get in a large amount of quality water time. The nine day trip consisted of their highest volume of training all year as it was row, eat, sleep, repeat for about 14 total sessions.

The Mules practiced out of the Lake Lanier Rowing Club (home of the 1996 Olympic Game rowing events) allowing the teams to use an Olympic race course and venue for the week. Other teams were down there alongside Colby allowing for some scrimmage time and putting together multiple race pieces.

"We had a great week of training and having the time to turn our focus towards developing our racing lineups and getting ready for the always competitive spring racing season to come was really productive. Our seniors and captains provided great leadership, and our youngsters are providing depth and speed and fun across all our crews." - Head Coach Stew Stokes

The Mules will have their first competition of the season April 6th at WPI in Worcester, Mass.
