Glan Llyn 2024

Children from Dosbarth Tegid and Dosbarth Brenig have been away on a residential trip to Glan Llyn, a welsh speaking outdoor activity centre, this week. They had an amazing time and all the staff who went with them were so proud of them. The children learnt lots of new skills and overcame many personal challenges. Everyone had a go at all the activities, overcoming their fears and having have lots of fun. The children took part in canoeing, climbing, orienteering and fire building and of course stayed away from home which was a really big challenge for some. Da iawn pawb, you were a real pleasure to take away.

Dosbarth Alwen have been focusing on money this week. We have been exploring, recognising and sorting coins in our provision areas. Linking with our topic, Each Peach Pear Plum we’ve been learning the stories and nursery rhymes in which the characters come from. Reception children have also been using their data they collected last week to complete a digital pictogram.. another very busy week!

In Dosbarth Gwynant this week, we have followed the children's interests and completed some work on World War Two. We found out more about what life was like in Britain during the war, including rationing, jobs and evacuation. We made links to our own experiences and used this to empathise with the lives of children at this time. Blwyddyn 6 have spent today at St David's High for a Humanities Day while Blwyddyn 5 had the opportunity to work with Will from Dragon Sports again. In preparation for our upcoming work on division and fractions, we would appreciate any support with helping your children to learn their times tables facts to 10x10.

Fab day outside exploring spaces, connecting with nature, climbing and working with our friends.

Great fun had in search of spiders, watching the Beluga and having snack together!

Dosbarth Padarn have begun a new traditional tale this week, Jack and the Beanstalk. We will explore this in line with our BIG question - Ble mae Saltney Ferry? We've already started asking where did the story happen...near Ewart Street?? Saltney Ferry Road??

We have been mapping our local area using a compass and looking at points of reference. Gwych!

We've an exciting job opportunity in our Playgroup setting. If you or anybody you know may be interested, please do have a look at the link below.
