Heartbreak Run 2024

Glenalmond College hosted its largest Heartbreak Run yet on Sunday, December 8th 2024, with nearly 70 pupils, OGs and staff braving snow-covered moors and mountains. From humble beginnings in 2016 with just 12 runners, the iconic 8.3-mile race has grown into a cherished tradition.

At the starting line

The snow-covered course made for slippery conditions but our runners were not deterred, spurred on by Glenalmond Head of Pipes and Drums, Mr Brian Elrick.

This year, Glenalmond alumni and Scottish Cross Country Runner, Harris Pagett, came home in first place, smashing the course record with an incredible time of 50:37.

At the finish line, crowds of well-wishers gathered to cheer on the runners.

Raising over £900 for Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust, the event proved to be a test of endurance, resilience, and camaraderie – qualities that define the Glenalmond spirit
