The sea eagle is Norway’s largest bird of prey and the fourth largest of all the world’s eagles. It is a fantastic experience to see this mighty bird plunging into the sea in search of food. The sea eagle is recognized for its characteristic features, such as its white tail, a strong yellow and hooked beak, eyes with a yellow iris and magnificent plumage. Several live out in the fjord and our experienced tour guides know where to find them. One of the best ways to see the eagle is on a RIB boat trip, but you can also see it flying over the fishing boat or from a kayak if you are paddling in the fjord.
Fishing Trip
Embark on an authentic fisherman’s adventure with a traditional fishing boat, Elltor, and ur most trusted Captain.
Lofoten is known for its long fishing traditions and the history goes back to the Viking Age when dried fish became Norway’s biggest export. Fishing takes place all year round and, in the fall, much of the catch is pollock, cod, haddock and halibut. The experienced local captain is a longtime fisherman himself and shares knowledge and exciting stories from the old days in the village. At the same time, guests get a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains from the water and possibly get a glimpse the majestic sea eagle or whale on the trip.
