Setting the Scene: The Lutes open their final homestand of the season today, welcoming in-state rival Whitman College to East Field for the penultimate game of the Northwest Conference regular season.
Series History: This is the first ever meeting between the Lutes and the Blues.
About the Lutes: Pacific Lutheran (1-12, 0-6 NWC) got six goals from Taylee Alldredge over the weekend but it wasn't enough in a pair of road setbacks to Oregon rivals Pacific University and George Fox University.
PLU conceded four of the first five goals last Friday against Pacific but the Lutes battled back, tying the game with 27 seconds left in the first quarter on a Alldredge goal. The game was again tied 5-5 early in the second quarter but the host Boxers would score four of the final five goals to slink away with the win.
Saturday saw Alldredge score the team's lone goal in a 22-1 setback against conference juggernaut George Fox.
10 Lutes have scored a goal this season or registered a point this season. Taylee Alldredge headlines that group with a team-best 25 goals and 28 points. Alldredge has scored in 10 of the team's 13 games. Annie Latimer leads the team in assists (six) and is second on the squad in points (10), Issabella Marchio has eight goals with Katrina Moran chipping in six.
Alldredge also leads the team in ground balls with 40 while Gracie Cecka has 29 in 2025.
Kassie Diller hasn't missed a minute in goal, racking up 149 saves with a 40.5 save percentage across the opening 13 games. The sophomore is also second on the team in ground balls with 30.
About the Blues: Whitman (10-4, 5-1 NWC) heads to Tacoma one game out of first place as the Blues are searching for the first conference title in program history.
Whitman carries a four-game win streak into the weekend with the team's lone blemish in conference play an 11-9 home setback to current NWC leader George Fox. Since then, the Blues have been on a tear, collecting wins at the expense of Whitworth University (13-8), Linfield University (13-9), Willamette University (18-15), and Lewis & Clark College (19-11).
Sara Hawkins is Whitman's top offensive asset with 45 goals and 35 assists this season. Lola McConaghy has 38 goals and five assists while Gracie Maulik is the third Whitman student-athlete with at least 30 goals, netting 32 goals and 11 assists in 2025.
Renn Novak has started every game for the Blues in goal, making 102 saves with a 9.10 goals against average.
East Field Magic: PLU's East Field has been a tough place for opposing team's to play at during the 2024-2025 academic year. The Lute women's lacrosse squad along with the Northwest Conference Champion men's and women's soccer teams have combined for a 15-7-7 record on the turf this academic year.
Luteville Highlights from Last Week
A Season of Firsts: Women's lacrosse became the first new varsity sport for the University since 1996 when the team played its first game back on Feb. 16. That game saw a lot of milestones. First goal was provided by Taylee Alldredge, the first assist was claimed by Annie Latimer. Meanwhile, later that week Kassie Diller became the program's first NWC Athlete of the Week.
