English - This week in English we have been working on our grammar. We discussed when capital letters and full stops need to be used before having a go at correcting grammatically incorrect sentences.
Maths - In maths, we have been continuing to work on our column addition and challenging ourselves by regrouping. Regrouping means carrying numbers over to the next column when the total in one column is more than nine. It helps us add larger numbers accurately and understand place value better. We also had a go as a class at column subtraction with regrouping which we will continue to work on after half term.
Art - In art class, we’ve been exploring prehistoric art from the Stone Age. Stone Age people created art on cave walls using natural pigments, rocks, and charcoal to depict animals and hunting scenes. To recreate this, we first practiced drawing animals with simple line drawings, then used charcoal to add texture and shading.
Teeny Tiny Toon - On Wednesday, we had Teeny Tiny Toon back! This week, we came up with our own scripts about things to do in Newcastle before filming our movies with our puppets we made last week. We had so much fun!
Spanish - In Spanish this week, we continued to work on counting in Spanish. We completed a crossword puzzle where we had to complete addition and subtraction questions to find out the answers. We are getting really good at counting!
