SUMMER CAMPS AND ACTIVITIES
Algebra I Eligibility
Those who are eligible to take the placement test per our handbook requirements have been notified this past week. If you have any questions about this, please contact Mrs. Katie Hidalgo (khidalgo@scsbluejays.org) or Mrs. Holly Leger (hleger@scsbluejays.org).
Summer Reading for Grades 2-8
Please see our school website for summer reading requirements for incoming students in grades 2-8 for the 2026-2027 school year. An informational summer reading page or packet with your child's ZPD, login, and a summer log should have been sent home for their summer needs.
mass
Summer is a break from school but not a break from Jesus! We still have the obligation to attend Sunday Mass- even when on vacation or traveling for sports. Check https://masstimes.org/ (there's an app too) to find Catholic churches and Mass times wherever you go!
Hallow Highlight
Summer is a great time to explore hallow.com! There are so many different forms of prayer and you can find just about every one on the website and app. If you haven't logged in with your child's account yet, make it a goal to do so this summer and plug into a whole new way to pray!
To log in, the user name is your child's first name.last name@scsbluejays.org and the password is hallowed.
Summer small groups
Looking for a meaningful way to connect and grow this summer? Small Group Registration is open!!! Learn more about this summer's groups at shbroussard.org/summersmallgroups
Have an amazing summer!
Almighty Father, as grateful stewards of the blessings You have bestowed on us from past leaders and supporters of our beloved St. Cecilia School family, we ask for wisdom and guidance in carrying on this legacy of serving Your children in Your love. Guided by the Holy Spirit, may we be humbly attentive to Your will as we strive to build new spaces of learning for Your children to grow, providing a foundation for the vocations in life to which You call them. May generous hearts and minds be opened and inspired by Your grace as we undertake this endeavor of building on tradition and trusting in Your will. We pray this in the name of Your Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, as we invoke the intercession of our patroness, Saint Cecilia. Amen
Summer training
All of our athletes, (male and female entering 5th-8th grade) have the opportunity to participate in Coach David LeBlanc’s Speed, Power, and Agility camp at St. Thomas More High School. Because the Bluejays are a major feeder to STM athletics, Coach LeBlanc has reserved a spot for all St. Cecilia athletes. For more information, please click here or visit https://athleticadvancements.com/.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Thank you to all the girls that tried out for the 2026–2027 Bluejay Volleyball Team. We are excited for the upcoming season and the opportunity for continued growth and development as the players prepare for high school athletics. We look forward to a great season and appreciate the commitment and support from all players and families.
PTC Spotlight
For the last 2 years, our PTC has been led by the most gracious leader, Judy Tilly. Being PTC President for the past couple of years doesn’t begin to cover what this Wonder Woman has done for our school and our PTC. She has been a volunteer and asset to SCS for many years. Judy is a mother of 4 Bluejays, married to John, and is an absolute treasure to our Bluejay community. Serving as PTC President, Judy’s role includes organization, participation, communication, and overseer of all committees, events, volunteers, and Chair positions in the PTC program. There hasn’t been a Teacher Appreciation Week in the past several years that you haven’t seen this woman on campus making sure the week is perfect for the teachers. She serves as a committee member who runs the Booth of Ring a Peg at the Broussard Community fair, gathering and sorting prizes, organizing volunteers, and keeping the booth running smoothly. She is a Co-Chair for our Ambassador program, BlueJay Bash volunteer, and she is one of the main women behind the success of our Spirit Shop. Judy’s impact on our school goes beyond her hard work, volunteer time, leadership positions, and responsibilities. If you know Judy, you know she leads with a servant heart. She gives her talents selflessly, takes on tasks with a smile on her face, and is always thinking of others before herself. Judy, a “Thank You” will never be enough to explain the gratitude our school community has for what you have done for our PTC.
