BADMINTON

13-6-3 Overall Record - 4th Place in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Sectional

The LT badminton team had another successful season. They continued their success while playing against some of the best teams in the state.

The Lions played in some of the best tournaments with key individual victories at Hersey, Stevenson and New Trier. The difficult competition prepared them for their postseason run.

At the conference meet, LT had many individual place winners. Mia Graziano and Simone Brown took 3rd place in 1st Doubles. Ella Gryfakis took 3rd place in the 6th Singles bracket. Juliet Dillenbeck and Sylwia Siebiesiuk took 3rd place 4th Doubles. Mia Graziano took home 1st place in 3rd Singles. The Lions then went on to take 2nd place in the IHSA Sectional Tournament.

BASEBALL

22-11 Overall Record - 12-6 in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Western Suburban Conference

LT Baseball had another great season. They finished the season with a 12-6 record in the West Suburban Conference which earned them second place. The battle for conference went down to the last week of conference play.

In addition to the grueling WSC schedule, the Lions competed in a very difficult non-conference schedule including the presteous Stevie's Way Tournament in which they played against top teams on Ozinga Field in Crestwood.

The Lions won their opening IHSA playoff game. Unfortunately, they were not able to bring home the Regional title and fell in the IHSA Regional Championship matchup.

BOYS GYMNASTICS

3-3 Overall Dual Meet Record - 3-3 in the West Suburban Conference - 4th Place Western Suburban Conference - 9th Place Finish in State

The LT Lions Boys Gymnastics Team had a great season despite switching to a different practice gym for the season due to construction.

The Lions were a top ten team all season long and their team scores continued to improve as the season continued. TJ Carr won 1st place on the Pommel Horse at the Sectional meet.

At the sectional final, the Lions finished in the top 10 of teams across the state and qualified for the state meet as an at large team. LT finished in 9th place as a team in the state championship meet.

BOYS LACROSSE

17-4 Overall Record - 3-2 in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place in the West Suburban Conference - IHSA Sectional Champions - Finished in the Elite Eight at State

The LT boys lacrosse team had a tremendous season. They competed with the best teams in the state including wins over Top 20 teams York, Hinsdale Central, Neuqua Valley and Downers Grove South.

The Lions won their first round playoff game over Mt. Carmel and then went on to beat higher seeded Downers Grove South. After defeating DGS in dramatic fashion, they advanced to the Sectional Final Game.

The Lions played well against the top seeded St. Ignatius team. They were down late in the game, but tied the score late in the fourth quarter and then won the game with a goal with no time left on the clock to beat St. Ignatius and win the IHSA Sectional Final. Sean Kultgen was selected to the All-State Honorable Mention Team and Colin Kultgen was named 2nd Team All-State.

GIRLS LACROSSE

9-12 Overall Record - 0-5 in the West Suburban Conference - 6th Place Western Suburban Conference - Finished the year ranked in 24th place in the state

The girls lacrosse team also played a very competitive schedule. They played ten teams who were ranked in the top 25 in the state.

Despite the difficult schedule, LT was able to defeat multiple top 25 teams in the state. With their quality wins they earned the number 3 seed in the Marist Sectional.

The Lions won their first round game against Mother McAuley 10-8 in a thrilling game. In the Sectional Semifinal, they lost to the host Marist team 14-7. Emma Dwyer earned a spot on the 2nd team all-state squad due to her incredible season.

GIRLS SOCCER

10-10-1 Overall Record - 3-3 in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Western Suburban Conference - IHSA Regional Champions

The Lions worked hard all season long against the best teams in the state of Illinois. They were able to battle for a second place finish in the West Suburban Conference.

To add perspective to the difficulty of the schedule, during the regular season, LT lost to 9 different teams. Five of those teams won IHSA Sectional Championships.

The Lions started the playoffs with two victories to win the IHSA Regional Championship. In the IHSA Sectional, the Lions lost in the Sectional Final to end their season after playing some of their best soccer late in the season. Caroline Mortonson was selected as an All-State athlete for her play in the 2025 season.

SOFTBALL

11-19 Overall Record - 5-7 in the West Suburban Conference - 5th Place Western Suburban Conference

LT Softball continued to grind out many wins over the course of the spring season. They won five games in the West Suburban Conference to finish in fifth place.

LT continued to compete against top teams in the state before heading to the IHSA playoffs. They beat multiple top teams in the state including Neuqua Valley, Shepard, Oak Park River Forest and Downers Grove South.

In the IHSA playoffs, LT won the Regional Semi-Final against a higher seeded Downers Grove South team. They advance to the Regional Final for the third straight year. Unfortunately, in the Regional Final they lost to RB to end their season. LT Softball had two All-State players. Isabella Evans and Ava Jacklin both earned 3rd Team All-State honors for their play in the 2025 spring season.

BOYS TENNIS

8-4 Overall Record - 3-3 in the West Suburban Conference - 4th Place Western Suburban Conference - 2nd Place finish in the Sectional - Placed 22nd place in the IHSA State Tournament

The Lions competed with top teams in the Libertyville Tournament to start their season and continued to finish in the top of the Naperville North and Hinsdale Central Invitationals as well.

In the IHSA Sectional Meet, the Lions took second place to the eventual state champion Hinsdale Central Team. In the Sectional Meet, LT doubles teams of Jackson Albee and Rohan Nagale and Fred Chen and Mateja Nokic took third and fourth place respectively to medal in the Sectional Meet. Shay Sweigard finished in fourth place in the Secitonal to also qualify for the state meet.

At the IHSA State Meet, Fred and Mateja won their second match to advance to the 2nd round of the consolation bracket. Shay won his first two matches and his fourth match before losing in the 5th round of the tournament. The boys earned a 22nd place finish as a team. Shay earned Second Team All-State honors for his play at the state meet.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

5th Place Finish in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place in the IHSA Sectional

The LT boys track team had many highlights during the season. They had some great performances from both individuals and from the relay teams. They finished their season hosting the IHSA Sectional Track Meet.

In the IHSA Sectional Meet, LT finished in second place. Multiple athletes won medals to contribute to the second place finish for the team. Two individuals and two relays qualified for the state meet.

At the state meet, the Lions were led by Trevor Devries, who finished in 10th place in the long jump and the 4 x 800 relay team of Charles Ciesla, Tate Pavelka, Ethan Wugazzer and Tyler Gantt who finished in 14th place in state.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

6th Place Finish in the West Suburban Conference - 4th Place in the IHSA Sectional

The LT Girls Track and Field were led by a strong group of student-athletes and they saw many successes during the course of their season.

The Lions competed in many of the top invitationals during the course of their season. They had top finishers in the DGS Invite, DGN Invite, the Wheaton-Warrenville South Invitational, the Thornton Tournament and they hosted the West Suburban Conference Meet.

The LT girls track team took 4th place in the IHSA Sectional Meet. They were only 4.5 points from taking 2nd place. Sarah Wiggins won first place in the 300m Hurdles. Vesta Samoulis tied for 2nd place in the high jump. Leigh Ferrell took first place in the pole vault. Each of these finishes qualified the girls for the state meet.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK AND FIELD

The Special Olympics Track and Field team had a great season this spring. They worked hard to improve on their skills in preparation for the Regional Qualifying Tournament.

At the Regional Tournament, LT had earned eight bronze medals, seven silver medals and ten gold medals. Nine LT athletes advanced and participated in the state Special Olympics Track and Field Meet in June.

At the state meet, LT had multiple top ten finishers. Macayla Gainer competed in the Shot Put event and earned a Participation Ribbon. Owen Collins Finished in 4th place in the Tennis Ball Throw and competed in the 100 Meter Dash. Benjamin Thompson finished in 4th place of the Shot Put. Liliana Benitez won a Bronze Medal for her efforts in the Tennis Ball Throw. Isabella Aguirre-Lievano took home a Silver Medal in the Tennis Ball Throw event. Finally, Halina Foster won Gold by coming in 1st place in the 100 Meter Run.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

29-9 Overall Record - 2-4 in the West Suburban Conference - 4th Place Western Suburban Conference - Regional Champions - Finished the Season Ranked 9th place in State

The boys volleyball team had another fantastic season. Many of the athletes were named to all-tournament teams during the regular season. Brody Lee-Caracci and Vaughan Guilfoile were named to the Argo all-tournament team. Brody was also named to the all-tournament team at the Richard Griesheim Invite and Matt Rife was named to the Richards all-tournament team. The Lions also took first place in the Argo Invitational.

The Lions started their post season run by beating Solorio Academy and St. Laurence in their first two matches. They then went on to meet Hinsdale Central in the IHSA Regional Title.

LT played well to capture the regional title by beating the Red Devils of Hinsdale Central for the championship. The Lions then advanced to the Sectional and eventually lost to the number one seed OPRF. Brody Lee-Caracci earned his way onto the 2nd team all-state team.

BOYS WATER POLO

16-12 Overall Record - 2nd Place Western Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Sectional - Finished the season ranked in 7th Place in the State

The boys water polo team continued to play one of the toughest schedules in the state. They competed at the highest of levels with tremendous success this past season.

They took 2nd place in the WSC tournament. After winning their first two games of the Sectional, they lost a tremendous shootout 19-14 against Brother Rice who had a record of 28-1 at that time. Eventually LT finished in 2nd place in the IHSA Sectional finals.

LT had two All-State award winners for the 2025 season. Sami Rabah was awarded 2nd Team All-State. Ben Kozak was named to the 3rd Team All-State Team.

GIRLS WATER POLO

24-5-1 Overall Record - Sectional Champions - IHSA 2nd Place Trophy in State

The girls water polo team had a great season with many highlights. They continued to work hard and their extra efforts paid of in big ways as the season came to an end.

During the regular season they went undefeated in the WSC to get ready for the State Tournament. In the IHSA Sectional they rolled to the Championship Game winning the first two game by a total of 38-4. They beat traditional powerhouse Mother McAuley 12-4 to win the Sectional Trophy and advance to state.

In the state Quarterfinal matchup, the Lions beat a scrappy St. Ignatius team by the score 5-4 in overtime to advance to the Semifinal game. Next LT took on York and beat the Dukes 14-11 in a very competitive and exciting game. In the State Championship game, LT lost to an undefeated Stevenson Team by the score 6-5 in the closest game that Stevenson played all year. The girls water polo team had three All-State Athletes this spring. They were led by Maya Mladjan and Isabella Recker who earned First Team All-State. Delaney Judkins was named Second team All-State.

The LT Spring Season was incredibly successful. There were 5 teams who finished their season in the top 10 in the state (Girls Water Polo (2nd), Boys Water Polo (Ranked 7th), Boys Lacrosse (Top 8), Boys Gymnastics (9th), Boys Volleyball (9th)). Two other teams finished with a top 25 finish in the state (Boys Tennis (22nd), Girls Lacrosse (25th)). Two teams won Regional Championships (Boys Volleyball and Girls Soccer). Two teams won Sectional Plaques (Girls Water Polo and Boys Lacrosse). Girls Water Polo took home a 2nd place state trophy.

There were 10 student athletes who attended the National Letter of Intent signing day on April 16 (Luca Bade, Mercer Krantz, Aleksandar Madzarevic, Luke Nicholaus, Julian Padilla, Anderson Palm, Ian Polonowski, Will Tobin, AJ Vavrik, Brooke Walsh).

13 student-athletes earned All-State honors in eight different sports:

Girls Water Polo 3 (Maya Mladjan (1st Team), Isabella Recker (1st Team) and Delaney Judkins (3rd Team))

There were also 134 seniors who earned West Suburban Conference All-Academic status this spring.
