Quay Newsletter October 2024

Message from Caroline Broadhead, Principal

As we reach the end of this half term, I want to express my gratitude to the whole of our school community for your generosity. We donated many trollies full of food to Christ Church last week.

It has been a busy and productive first half term. All children have demonstrated not only academic dedication but also a commitment to extra curricular clubs/activities too. It has been lovely to see all clubs in full swing, we will re-run some next half term as we are very aware of the waiting lists.

As we look forward to next half term, we will continue to reflect on the accomplishments of this half term and continue to build on this, with exciting events, further learning opportunities and preparations for, dare I say it, Christmas!

YOU SAID, WE DID!

After listening to parent voice, we noted that you wanted a wider variety of clubs across the whole school. We have worked hard to provide a wider selection of clubs for all ages of children. We know your children are enjoying the new clubs, this will continue throughout the whole academic year.

You can sign up to next half term’s clubs now via MCAS. Places are limited and we ask that pupils make a strong commitment to the clubs they sign up for.

School Council

This month, the classes elected their School Council member to represent their class. We also elected a Head Boy and Girl and a Deputy Head Boy and Girl from Years 5&6. We are looking forward to working with our School Council to make positive changes to Quay Academy based on the voice of our children.
