- University Convocation will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the CFPA Theatre. In addition to a University Update, we’ll be recognizing faculty and community members, including the presentation of our Innovador Award.
- The IBC Bank & Commerce Bank Keynote Speaker Series exploring the significance of the U.S.-Mexico 1944 Water Treaty is Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
- Big on Beats? Check out the Percussion Ensemble Fall Recital this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the CFPA Recital Hall.
- On Thursday, 1,813 TAMIU students will be honored for their on-time degree completion during our TAMIU Student Success Wall Ceremony at 3 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda.
- Also Thursday, the two-day S.A.N.E. (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Boot Camp 2 begins featuring a panel discussion and mock trial focused on the critical issues of sexual assault and domestic violence. Find out more.
- On Friday, we’ll be joined by State Senator Judith Zaffirini for the presentation of the Senator Judith Zaffirini Teachers’ College Student Loan Debt Grant Program Awards at 10:30 a.m. in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center, second floor.
Last week, we launched our new Lactation Pod with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Lactation pods support student parents and promote health and well-being for all. TAMIU is proud to provide strategic resources that help our student parents.
Congrats to the Environmental Studies Initiative for its well-attended, first-ever Symposium, “Eyes on the Water: A Confluence of Perspectives on Water as Life and Resource.” We look forward to future ESI offerings.

Wintermester and Spring 2025 Registration Now Underway
Registration for Wintermester 2025 and Spring 2025 began Monday, November 4, 2024, at 8 a.m. Late registration for Spring 2025 begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Regents Name Juan J. Castillo Interim President of TAMIU
In action Thursday, Regents voted to name Juan J. Castillo interim president of TAMIU. Castillo had previously been appointed acting president by Chancellor John Sharp after the death of President Pablo Arenaz Oct. 3.

IBC Bank & Commerce Bank Keynote Speaker Series at TAMIU Explores Significance of U.S.-México 1944 Water Treaty
The U.S.-México Water Treaty as a constitutional document will be the focus of the next TAMIU IBC Bank and Commerce Bank 2024-2025 Keynote Speaker Series, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024.
Dr. Stephen P. Mumme, Emeritus Professor of Political Science at Colorado State University, will present his lecture titled, "U.S.-México 1944 Water Treaty as a Constitutional Document," in the Student Center Ballroom, room 203 with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. The lecture will begin at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Join us this Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, from 1 – 3 p.m. for our 2024 Fall School Districts Career Fair. Network and connect with representatives for full-time teaching, administrative, clerical, and other positions by speaking with local and out-of-town school districts
1,813 TAMIU Students to be Recognized for On-Time Degree Completion Nov. 14
Students will be honored for their on-time degree completion during TAMIU's Student Success Wall Ceremony Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda.
Temporary display panels will be viewable at the STC Rotunda for one week. The permanent, 18-foot display, “Four Years, Many Futures,” located on the second floor of the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center, will be viewable starting Monday, Nov. 25.
TAMIU S.A.N.E. Boot Camp 2 Thursday Raises Awareness on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence
TAMIU has announced its two-day S.A.N.E. Boot Camp 2 beginning Thursday, November 14, 2024 and featuring a panel discussion and mock trial focused on the critical issues of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Killam Partners with TAMIU for Dusty's Food Pantry, Launching Food Donation Drop-off Campaign
The Killam organization, in collaboration with TAMIU, is thrilled to announce a partnership aimed at filling Dusty's Food Pantry. Killam is generously contributing funds to Dusty's Food Pantry, coordinating drop-off locations with their tenants for city-wide exposure, is setting up a station for more donations in their office on University Boulevard and at the free TAMIU Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. on the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library front lawn.
To kickstart the campaign, the Killam organization launched a Food Donation Drop-off Campaign featuring tenants at The Shoppes at Winfield, The Shoppes at Shiloh, Loop 20 Plaza, Paseo Casa Blanca and Room for More.
