Sports Day
Pupils have had a very busy week with 3 afternoons of sports. It was lovely to see so many parents and families coming along to support them on Thursday afternoon.
Well done to Team Glas - overall winners.
Thank you to Melissa and Tracy for organising the drinks and cakes to sell. They raised a fantastic £150 for school.
Parent Forum - Monday
The next Parent Forum will be held on Monday 30th June after school at 3:20pm. We will meet on the grass next to the playground so parents can join in discussions and still keep an eye on their children.
Items to discuss include the summer disco (17th July), Mrs Davies' tea party, fundraising in the autumn term, setting up a school PTA. Please come along and share your ideas.
Artist workshops
All pupils have been working with a local artist, Catherine Williams, to design and create a mural for the wall outside the junior cloakroom. As part of the art project they also had the opportunity to work with another artist. Dan Llewelyn Hall is renown for his paintings of portraits and landscapes, especially trees (https://www.danlhall.com).
He told the children about his career as an artist. He then worked with all children across the school to look at and draw the trees around school.
School Uniform Swap
We have a lot of donated uniform in the school library. Please feel free to come in after school on Wednesdays if you need any items or wish to make any donations of clean, useable uniform. We would also welcome donations of shorts for PE.

When should I keep my child off school? - NHS advice
It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school when they're unwell. There are government guidelines for schools and nurseries about health protection and managing specific infectious diseases. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.
Safeguarding
If you have any safeguarding concerns, no matter how big or small, please report it. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
If you have concerns or suspicions concerning a child, contact Powys safeguarding team 24 hours/day, 365 days/year by email csfrontdoor@powys.gov.uk or through their online reporting form (Click for link).

The designated safeguarding lead in school is Mrs Fowler, the deputy safeguarding lead is Mrs Haine and our governor responsible for safeguarding is Sean McLaughlin.

Even though primary school meals are free to all pupils, if you register for Free School Meals you can help your school benefit from funding because you have registered.
Registering for Free School Meals might also qualify you for other help and assistance, including school uniform clothing grants
To register is easy and confidential. You don't have to tell the school. (Click for link)
Who can register for Free School Meals?
To get free meals in Powys schools, the parents/carers must get one of the following:
- Income Support
- Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
- If you are an Asylum Seeker getting support under the Immigration and Asylum Act.
- State Pension Guaranteed Credit
- Employment and Support Allowance - Income based
- Child Tax Credit - as long as you are not getting an amount for childcare paid with your CTC, or getting Working Tax Credit. HM Revenue & Customs must also have worked out your household income as £16,190 a year or less.
- Universal Credit - as long as your annual net earnings are £7400 or less
