Dear Bluejay Family,
What a memorable Grandparents Day we had here at St. Cecilia! Our school was brimming with the love and joy of our cherished grandparents and grandfriends.
From the smiles shared over coffee and biscuits to the beautiful Mass shared with our older students, this day was a beautiful reminder of the cherished bond between generations and the unwavering support of our extended Bluejay family.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible! We are blessed to have such a loving community surrounding and supporting our students.
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal
“I would now like to say a word to grandparents, who are so important for every family. They can be – and so often are – the guarantors of the affection and tenderness which every human being needs to give and receive. They offer little ones the perspective of time, they are memory and richness of families.…They are a treasure which the younger generation should not be denied ....”
Pope Benedict XVI, 2006

What is all saints' day?
All Saints’ Day is a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church, meaning we are required to attend Mass on this day. It is a celebration of the Solemnity of all the holy men, women, and children who live with God in Heaven and pray for us on Earth. It’s a special day to ask your patron saint to pray for you and thank them for all the prayers they offer on your behalf. If you haven’t picked a patron saint maybe take some time this All Saints’ Day to ask God to reveal a special saint to you. We could all use someone in Heaven that is intentionally praying for us!
Rosary Reflections with our SCS Youth Ministry students
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. At our October Youth Ministry meeting, 3rd-5th grade students were given the opportunity to create videos with different reflections on the Holy Rosary including the history of the rosary, the prayers of the rosary, the mysteries of the rosary, and more. This project was made possible by our incredible 7th and 8th grade campus ministry YMCA team who helped lead, Mrs. Claire Carluen who helped to create our finished product, and our creative and eager 3rd-5th grade youth ministry students who participated in this special project! We had so much fun working on this project and we hope you enjoy learning more about the rosary.

Chapel & Library Repairs – In Progress!
You may have noticed on Wednesday October 16th that there was quite a buzz around the back door of the chapel! Repairs are underway there and in the front of our library. With a bit of help from this beautiful weather, the work should only take 7-10 days. You may have also noticed three new arched awnings, one over each window of the chapel. These serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose.

Dear Bluejay Family,
We are the CHAMPIONS! The 7/8th Grade Boys are the Christian School League Division II Football Champions. They are repeat champions, and have accomplished the feat of winning championships in 3 of the 4 years that they have played football. They defeated St. Michael on Thursday night at Teurlings to remain undefeated on the season. This team had huge shoes to fill from last year’s team, and it certainly did so. They did so with a mixture of sound defense and high-powered offense. The boys succeeded humbly and professionally to claim the championship in a fantastic night of football. Congratulations and thank you for the memories! We want to recognize this year’s champions and coaching staff.
The SCS Cross Country Team will be running in the League Championship Meet at Ascension on Monday afternoon and the State Championship Meet in Pineville on Saturday of next week. The kids are ready to show their progress from the summer to now as they run their way to victory. We wish them best of luck as they represent SCS for their last two times of the season.
It is time to sign up for the Broussard Community Fair 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.
Coach Kerry Boumans has asked us to announce that his fall wrestling camp is now holding registration. Please see the flier for more information.
As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers are admitted free for home games in our gym. The schedules are in and available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay athletics.
Have a blessed day,
