Center Parcs Newsletter March 2025

Hi all,

I hope you are all well.

I'm very much looking forward to our next public consultation event later this week, where I hope to be able to speak to as many of you as possible.

On Wednesday 26th March, we'll be in Denholm Village Hall from 2pm to 7pm so please do come along and meet the team if you're available. We will have consultants covering design, landscaping, noise, traffic, water and drainage, geology, ecology, architecture, arboriculture, utilities, energy, lighting and the planning process, as well as members of the Center Parcs team. We will also be showing the first draft of our masterplan, landscape zones and visuals of our accommodation - a very exciting step, as I'm sure you'll agree.

We will also be holding further public consultation events on:

  • Thursday 24th April at Selkirk RFC from 2pm-7pm – consultants will be present to discuss the planning application, design, landscaping, traffic, water and drainage, ecology and lighting. We are hoping to show our updated masterplan, visuals of our central buildings and CGIs at this event.
  • Tuesday 20th May at Hawick RFC from 2pm-7pm – consultants will be present to discuss the planning application, design, landscaping, traffic, water and drainage, ecology, architecture and arboriculture. We are hoping to show our updated masterplan, visuals for accommodation and central buildings and CGIs at this event.

On Wednesday 21st May we will be hosting a community drop-in event at Hawick RFC from 11am to 7pm where we will presenting all of our plans and have consultants available to discuss all aspects of the plans. This will be our final event ahead of submitting a planning application in the summer.

Finally, I wanted to share a small story that I hope will show you how serious we are about being part of the local community. We were approached by a local primary school who were learning about proposed land use development and the advantages and disadvantages for local communities, including a mini project on Center Parcs. Our Community Liaison Officer, Paul Hogarth, visited them last week to give them an overview of Center Parcs and answer any questions. At the end of his visit, he was presented with this lovely thank you card from the students!

I look forward to hopefully seeing you on Wednesday.

Colin McKinlay
