PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family,

What a wonderful way to wrap up our week before Fall Break! Thursday’s Color Run was a joyful celebration of community and school spirit, and I am so grateful to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and staff who made it possible. Your support and enthusiasm helped bring the event to life and made it an unforgettable day for our Bluejays.

We’ve also been blessed with beautiful weather throughout Fall Break — a perfect reminder of God’s goodness and the gift of rest and renewal.

Another special highlight this week has been the “soft opening” of our newly renovated courtyard. It’s exciting to see students and staff beginning to enjoy this space and to see it come to life again. While we’re not quite ready for full access just yet, that time is coming soon! For now, please know that our arrival and dismissal procedures will remain the same as they have been since the start of the school year.

Thank you, as always, for your patience, support, and trust as we continue to make St. Cecilia an even more beautiful and welcoming place for our students to grow in faith and learning.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Carline and Walker Safety Reminders

Parents, we need your help to keep our morning arrival and afternoon dismissal safe and smooth for everyone. Please take note of the following procedures:

Car Riders:

Use the horseshoe drive behind the One Heart Building for all car riders. Do not skip it. Following the designated carline route ensures consistent traffic flow and greatly reduces hazards. Please see the map linked below for reference.

Walkers:

Please walk up to the crosswalk near the sign out at the back of the Administration Building to meet younger students at dismissal once you see them exiting the building. We know the shade of the tree at the front office is nice, but our younger students will not be permitted to walk alone into the parking lot. Meeting your child on the sidewalk allows staff to maintain supervision and ensures everyone leaves campus safely. Your cooperation keeps all of our students—and you—safe. Thank you for helping us maintain a calm and predictable dismissal routine each day!

RELIGION

SCS MASS

Mass is at 8:30 Wednesday morning and will be hosted by Mrs. Breaux's 7th grade homeroom. Guests may join us for limited seating in church, in the Narthex or PLC, or online at shbroussard.org/live.

Please note that we have very limited seating available in the church. Guests will mainly be seated in the choir loft, Narthex, and Parish Life Center (PLC). Due to safety concerns, please do not stand in the back of the church near the doors to the Narthex.

MASS MUSIC

Below are next week's SCS Mass songs. You can find these and more in our SCS Mass Music Youtube playlist.

  • Processional: "Holy Spirit"
  • Offertory: "Pescador de Hombres"
  • Communion: "Hosanna", "Lead Me to the Cross"
  • Recessional: "Your Grace is Enough"

Special Request

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, our Spanish and Music classes are working together to learn the beautiful Spanish hymn “Pescador de Hombres” (“Fisher of Men”). This song ties in perfectly with our school theme this year and will be sung at this week's school Mass. We will be singing only the first half of the song (first verse, chorus, second verse, chorus). To help students feel confident and ready, we kindly ask that they take time to practice the song at home. A link to a video of the song and to the lyrics are included below. Thank you for supporting this special collaboration!
