Principal's Message
'Tis the Season!
December has arrived, bringing with it the joy, excitement, and festive spirit of the season. While we embrace the cheerful chaos of gift shopping, travel, and celebrations with loved ones, it’s also a time that reminds us of the busyness and beauty of this time of year.
In our school community, our academic focus remains strong as we begin the second cycle of advisory, with a focus on college readiness and grade-level proficiency. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff, students, and parents. Your unwavering support is the cornerstone of our school’s success and the foundation of our vibrant school community.
Conrad embodies a true sense of togetherness, and during this season, the warmth of our connection(s) shines even brighter. As we look ahead to 2025, I am filled with excitement for the new learning experiences, challenges, and opportunities that await us. Together, we will continue to grow and thrive as a school community.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow. Wishing you and your families a joyful, peaceful, and memorable start to the holiday season!
Mission- Conrad Schools of Science… teaching life science and life lessons in a kind and inclusive environment, inspiring students and improving the world.

Parent Committee Members Needed
The Red Clay Consolidated School District is launching an initiative as part of its 5-year Strategic Plan to review and improve programming and balance enrollment at our secondary schools. This effort will include an analysis of school programs and attendance zones to ensure equitable access to college and career readiness opportunities for all students.
With approval from the School Board at the November Board of Education meeting, the district is forming a special committee to evaluate these factors and provide recommendations to the Board. In doing so, the committee will consider:
- A strong and balanced enrollment across schools
- Changes to current Attendance Zones
- Equitable access to quality education for all students.
- Advantages and challenges of options through data analysis, community feedback, and research.
The committee will include 3 District Administrators, 3 School Leaders, 3 Educators, 7 Parent/Community Members (1 from each nominating district), and outside experts to advise as needed. Members of the committee are expected to provide:
- Commitment: Committee members are expected to attend all scheduled meetings and actively participate in discussions and tasks.
- Objectivity: Members will approach the task with an open mind, focusing on the overall needs of the district and community rather than individual interests.
- Collaboration: Members will work collaboratively, respecting diverse perspectives and expertise.
- Communication: Members will serve as liaisons to the groups they represent, ensuring that all voices are heard and feedback is brought back to the Committee.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact us at amy.jefferson@redclay.k12.de.us. Thank you for your interest and support as we work together to ensure equitable opportunities for all students in our district.

Students in grade 11 will take this assessment in May. The Delaware Social Studies Standards are written to measure content knowledge and skills in civics, economics, geography and history.

Nursing students lead another successful blood drive!
Right before break, Conrad nursing students worked with the Blood Bank of Delmarva to organize an in-school blood drive. The drive was our most successful drive since pre-Covid years. We saved 132 lives from 44 successful donors. The nursing program would like to thank all who donated and supported.

World Travelers' Club 2026 Trip: Dominican Republic!
Dear families, Educational travel exposes students to new people, places, and cultures which in turn expands their knowledge of the world and their knowledge of themselves. That’s why we are thrilled to bring this opportunity to your family and our community.
These trips are an incredible opportunity for our students to explore a new country, culture, and language, and we can’t wait to see them discover more about themselves, gain leadership skills, and grow more confident in the process.
Space is limited and comes on a first-come, first-serve basis for this trip. Our group had reserved spots. Please be sure to sign up as soon as possible! This trip will fill up fast!
