ABOUT ME

Trey Woodbine is an 18-year-old filmmaker born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, drawn to fantastical stories that explore identity, community, and race.   He interned at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a year and a half, working in the design and social media department during his junior and senior years of high school, which furthered his understanding of art and the creative process. In 2023, he was a student at  Ghetto Film School, where he shot, directed, and edited his first short film, Piano Man, which then screened at Alamo Drafthouse in Downtown Brooklyn. Through Ghetto Film School, he had the immense chance to collaborate and visit institutions such as The Criterion Collection, The Mill, B&H, MBS Studios, and NBC.  In 2025, he also had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Superfine: Tailoring Black Style Press Conference to produce content for the @metteens account. He now studies at Pratt Institute, where he has been able to create and collaborate with his peers at a higher level. His film BOYS DON'T CRY (2024) screened at Yale, MoMI, and Bric Galleries, followed by the making of his next two films, Wonderwall and HEAVEN in 2025, and his current production, CLUB 82, which is a docu-drama exploring the first drag club in NYC and its reopening in 2026. Woodbine is also a 2026 Young Arts Winner in Film.
