We have worked incredibly hard organizing our HLX1881 Alumni Database to make it the most comprehensive and robust database in Division 1.
We have detailed contact information for over 1,200+ lacrosse alumni, and give you the tools to connect with them. This database can be sorted by industry, job title, company, location, or grad year.
Our HLX1881 Alumni Network is a resource only available to current and former members of our team. This online platform with 600+ alumni allows our program to stay connected professionally. Our alumni will post jobs directly in our group, and players are able respond and connect immediately.

Throughout the year, we host and organize numerous lacrosse alumni networking events. in every season. Our engaged alumni love to return to campus, and we love to connect with them in person. Last year we had a Networking Breakfast prior to our alumni game, and various career panels scheduled throughout the year.
Our 1,200 living alumni hold leadership positions in every industry, Fortune 500 company, and in every country on the planet. Harvard Lacrosse alumni are doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, teachers, finance execs and beyond.

The Harvard Varsity Club is proud to sponsor several Employer Events throughout the year to give our student-athletes access to the necessary networks and resources as they begin their career exploration.
Throughout the year, many of the premiere organizations and businesses will come through Cambridge to meet face to face with our student athletes.
The HVC Networking Database is the gold mine for career networking, and job placement. As a Harvard student-athlete you are granted access to the largest athletic specific data-base in the country. With 25,000+ living Harvard student-athlete alumni, students are able to search the database by industry, location, sport, or company.
The database is complete with job titles, company name and more. Students are able to reach out directly to any Harvard athletics alumni directly through the Networking Database.
Employers have had such success recruiting Harvard Athletes, they reserve spots for them each summer. The HVC partners with employers to find the right fit.
The HVC partners with Nike, and one student-athlete each summer (at least) is chosen for their Summer Internship Program.
The Athlete Medical Mentorship Program (AMMP) pairs students on a pre-med track with Harvard Athletics Alumni who are physicians. Students spend the summer shadowing and learning from their mentor.
The HVC also partners with Coach For College. Each summer student-athletes are chosen to travel Thailand for a 3-week educational experience. Students work in local schools throughout Thailand educating children through life and sport.
Bob Glatz '88 is the Executive Director of the Harvard Varsity Club. Bob is also on our Team Crimson Staff, and works very closely with our program.
Either through Bob's scheduling page on-line, or through email, you are able to set up a 1-on-1 session with Bob at any time. It is Bob's role to help navigate you through all steps of your process and she genuinely enjoys working with our student-athletes.
The Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), Harvard’s official University-wide alumni association, is an organization composed of all University students and graduates. The HAA maintains and enhances a highly engaged, vibrant community of alumni and friends worldwide. While their purpose is to promote the welfare of Harvard University and establish a mutually beneficial relationship between Harvard University and its alumni, they offer fantastic resources pertinent to undergraduates, most notably:

Connect with more than 400,000 alumni in more than 200 countries through the HAA Alumni Directory. You can update your own profile and search for alumni. Searches can be filtered by school, class year, or location, and you can select the Career Network option to find alumni who have volunteered to share their experiences with you.
Harvard Alumni Association Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) are recognized communities of University-wide alumni who actively engage around a central unifying purpose, mission, background, or activity beyond graduating class affiliation, school, or regional proximity. This is a fantastic way to engage with alumni in areas that interest you.
Starting the summer before you enroll and beginning your First Year, you'll be immersed into a Concentration/Major of your choice and provided a playbook and pathway to begin your life after graduation. Career support and guidance surrounds you at Harvard, especially within our program. There are four major avenues:

Coach Byrne works closely with these organizations and is always available to personally consult and advise you on your career and help personally connect you to our dedicated and passionate alumni base.
The Office of Career Services (OCS) is devoted to educating, advising, and connecting students to opportunities for summer and post-graduation in order to foster their intellectual, social, and personal transformations. The OCS have tremendous resources available to students such as:

-Job and Internship Search
-Interview Preparation
-Career Fairs
-Evaluating and Negotiating Offers
Preparing for your next steps may involve self-discovery, exploration, and skill development, but it also requires you to adhere to a standard time-line of events. The Office of Career Services has an abundance of resources that help you identify your particular area of interest, and offers industry specific timelines to ensure you are on track.
Resume, CV, and Cover Letter creation is an integral part of your career development. The OCS offers industry specific templates, resume tutorials, and detailed resume reviews.
Several times a year Coach Byrne will collect the resumes of EVERY player in our program and share them with the HLX1881 Network of Former Harvard Lacrosse players (nearly 1,000 strong).
The OCS has a plethora of resources to help you locate applicable internships and jobs that fit your interests. For example, using the Crimson Careers hub, you are able to access internships and careers posted explicitly for Harvard students.
Additionally, the Recruiting Program provides a structure for the networking, application, and first-round interview process for both full-time and internship opportunities with approximately 150 employer participants each year. The program is one tool among many that students can utilize in their search for jobs and internships.
Career Fairs and Expos are a great way to meet representatives from different types of organizations to learn about internship and full-time positions, and to discover exciting opportunities within the field. With industry specific fairs such as finance, business, consulting, marketing and more the OCS provides incredible opportunities to put yourself in front of the preeminent firms and brands in the world.
