The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement and logistics operations, ensuring seamless sourcing, and overall supply efficiency for successful project delivery, in line with Company Values and in a way that builds StructureCraft’s reputation and relationships in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management
- Provide purchasing and expediting for assigned asset classes.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to secure high-quality materials, equipment, and services while optimizing costs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure favorable pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define procurement requirements and specifications for various projects.
- Monitor procurement processes, including supplier evaluation, selection, order placement, and delivery tracking.
- Implement measures to mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring consistent availability of materials to support ongoing projects.
Logistics Management
- Design and manage a robust logistics network to facilitate the timely and cost-effective transportation of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize logistics operations, reduce lead times, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to transportation, customs, and import/export regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any logistics-related issues and prevent disruptions to project timelines.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement and logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide guidance and direction to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement and logistics effectiveness.
- Analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
- Generate regular reports for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for enhancement.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the development of the company's overall supply chain strategy, aligning procurement and logistics activities with business goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to drive innovation within the supply chain function.
Skills and Qualifications
- Management experience in a purchasing or supply chain role.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong business financial acumen.
- Experience in performance improvement, process re-engineering, cost reduction, supply chain improvement and other transformation initiatives is considered an asset.
- Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset.
