Dear friends,

Another year is coming to an end, and we are grateful to the Lord for being able to serve Him! It is a privilege! At the same time, the question arises: “What do you have for us next year, Lord?” We know that He guides us and has a purpose for us that He is fulfilling. That is why we want to tell you how He allowed us to serve where we are during the last months of the year.

Missionary Institute

During November, we worked hard at the Institute helping with the end-of-year preparations:

Every year, a play about the life of a missionary is prepared and performed at the institute. The purpose of this is to encourage the graduating students, but also to open the doors to neighbors and people in the community so they can come and hear the gospel through this play. We helped with the performances, and Jordan helped build the necessary props.

The play was about Mary Slessor, a Scottish woman who worked as a missionary in Nigeria.

Eimy was translating for two missionaries working in Papua New Guinea who came for two weeks to teach a literacy module.

We also helped with the graduation preparations.

Four students graduated from the Transcultural stage and three from the Biblical stage. Praise God! Jordan led the music and Eimy helped as coordinator along with another teacher, Becky Smith, organizing everything.

It has been a privilege for us to serve at the Institute this year! We enjoyed our time there and thank the Lord for the opportunity to be of help to the teaching staff, to spend time with the students, and to be a challenge and a blessing to them, not only in the classroom but outside of it as well!

Church

At church, we continue to serve and help. We have finished the youth club classes for this year. We hope to return when the students return in February. Pray for wisdom in reaching out to the neighborhood kids, many of whom are now teenagers and find friendships more appealing than coming to a church club.

Kids are the more interested ones.

We thank the Lord because the young people in the church have become more enthusiastic and they are happy to meet on Saturdays.

We thank the Lord because we have seen our congregation grow. (We are looking for a place where we can all fit!) At the same time, we pray that members of our church will continue to go out and be willing to serve the Lord full-time.

Year 2026

Next January, we hope to attend the annual Missionary Conference, where all the missionaries in Colombia gather to be encouraged by God's Word and share how their ministries have been going over the past year.

For now, we also hope to continue helping at the Missionary Institute.

As you know, our desire is to serve the Lord full-time within a tribal community. We continue to pray for the Lord's guidance in this matter.

Survey trip

Many of you remember the Yukpa, an ethnic group in the mountains where Jordan spent two months on a tribal internship a couple of years ago.

Ever since Jordan went there, he has been very interested in this tribal group. The missionaries who worked there for 10 years left this year and are currently serving at the Institute. As a result, the place was left without missionaries and with a lot of work to be done.

Knowing that there is currently no missionary team in this location, we have been talking with the leadership of Nuevos Horizontes, asking questions about the possibility of forming a new team to continue the work there. They tell us that it is possible. We have a meeting scheduled with them so they can tell us how working there would work. The missionaries who left still have things to bring from their home in the community, so they need to make another trip there for this. We talked with them to see if we could accompany them to visit the place again, this time with Eimy, and they said yes. So, with the leadership's approval, we are planning a week-long trip there in January, God willing.

The purpose of this trip would be for Eimy to get to know the people, the place, the way of life, and for us to find out what would be necessary for full-time ministry in this place.

Pray for this trip: for protection, safety on the road, and that we may make the most of that week to learn more about what it would be like to work there.

This is a ministry opportunity that we see, although there are others that have come our way. Please continue to pray with us for guidance.

We are thankful for each and every one of you!

Prayer requests

Your support in prayer and encouragement always blesses us! Please continue to pray with us for these requests:

  • The missionary conference, that we may be encouraged and challenged.
  • The survey trip to the Yukpa ethnic group in January.
  • The meeting we have pending with the leadership to discuss the possibility of creating a team to work among the Yukpa.
  • Provision of teammates and what is necessary to enter a community.
  • The Lord's guidance, we want to serve Him wherever He leads us.
Thank you for your support!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let us celebrate the coming of our Savior!

Your coworkers,

Jordan & Eimy Jaspe
