TAO Surgical The Way to the future of surgery

TAO: means a road, path, way; and hence, the way in which one does something; method, doctrine, principle.

TAO SURGICAL is paving a new way of looking at how we perform surgery and interact with patients

TAO Surgical is reimagining surgery with new innovations, new doctrines and new processes to improve surgical and oncological outcomes while minimizing iatrogenic trauma to patients and the healthcare system.

Embracing Ai Integration

The way we perform surgery has changed remarkably little over time. While we have incorporated technological advances into surgery, technological innovation in surgery has traditionally lagged significantly behind society as a whole.

Ai has the power to significantly transform surgery immediately. TAO Surgical brings together the global thought leaders in surgical Ai to guide the way to the future of surgery making surgery smarter, safer, more efficient and even more minimally invasive.

Embracing Robotic Integration

Are robotics the future of surgery?

Today's robotic surgical systems are fundamentally telemanipulation systems that still rely on surgeon movements, actions and decision making processes. However, robotic surgical platforms are the gateway to advancing surgery as they can generate movement and action data that we can use to analyze and model surgical movements and actions. Combined with Ai, we can begin the journey to autonomous actions in surgery leading to fully autonomous procedures with little or no surgeon interaction.

By combining video/imaging data with robotic action and movement data we can correlate robotic movements and actions with tissue/instrument interactions so that we can model surgical best practices and optimize surgical interventions as a the first steps towards fully autonomous actions in surgery.

Embracing and Advancing Diagnostic Imaging

As diagnostic imaging gets more and more advanced we can harness the power of Ai to see beyond what the human eye can see to help us diagnose and characterize disease earlier and earlier and when we combine diagnostic images with genomic data we can further predict disease progression and prognosticate outcomes. When we combine the sub millimeter precision of robotics with new navigation and ablation technologies we can treat cancers earlier with even more precision potentially eliminating the need to for more invasive surgical and reconstructive procedures.

Embracing Radiomics

Radiomics aims to extract quantitative information from diagnostic images, including complex patterns that are difficult to recognize or quantify by the human eye. Advances in Radiomics will enable us to identify and treat cancers before they grow and become systemically entrenched.
