The spiral brain shows a beautiful spiral and wrinkles in the brain in a different way. The paper that it was made from is newspaper. It shows the creative part of the right brain, and the beautiful part of the brain expressed through words and pictures. This piece has a nice balance and fun twist to it. The newspaper being 3D just really adds to the visual expression of the piece. It is a very colorful and strong piece.
This piece was the most enjoyable to make. Setting a book on fire after years of struggling to read was very fun. This piece took a long time gluing the brunt piece to wire and setting up the middle flame. The light on the inside adds a lot of realism to the piece. This is a strong message hidden in the book. I really like how it turned out and I hope my audience can see the struggle and the frustrating message that is shown.
This project was so fun to make and spiraled into more as I kept going. I wanted to show how dyslexics visualize things instead of analyzing what they read. I learned a lot about working with paper and the little details. I feel this piece is beautiful and I really enjoy it and hope this really helps show how a dyslexic brain works. I hope my audience sees the little details but also the little childlike touch I added to it to show personal growth.
The project is very odd and fun. I worked on this piece in adobe photoshop, and I changed the RGB’s of the text. There is a hidden quote in the text form the book fish in a tree. This piece shows how letters can overlap in the dyslexic and overwhelmed someone. The colors add that special right side of the brain touch to the art. The words, colors and points in the words make this piece so powerful and meaningful. I hope my audience sees that.
