Nanaimo Hatchery Offers Spring Lessons

Life in H2O is the culminating activity for elementary school classes that are participating in the Classroom Incubation Program. Classes who are not participating in the incubation program can also participate and are given fry from the hatchery to release.

At the Education Committee meeting on April 3, 2024, the Department of Learning Services presented an overview of the District’s 2022/2023 How are We Doing Report. School Administrators from Bayview Elementary shared an elementary perspective on strategies used to support the Board's goal of Truth and Reconciliation.

Learning with Syeyutsus

Join us on Wednesday, April 10 from 12-1 p.m. for the next Learning with Syeyutsus Indigenous learning series featuring Author Bruce Granville Miller. In this talk, based on his book, Oral History on Trial: Recognizing Aboriginal Narratives in the Courts, Bruce will describe what distinguished oral historians have taught him about their work and how he has used this information to dispute Crown critiques both in court and in writing.
