Special Election Results

Plumas County has certified the results of the November 4th special election. Gold Mountain CSD had three open Director seats. The new Directors will serve a four-year term beginning December 5, 2025 through December 7, 2029.

We are pleased to announce the following elected officials:

  • Patricia Ryan - was elected by the community after serving as an appointed Director from June to December of this year. We are pleased to have her representing the Board for a full term.
  • Rene St. Pierre - was re-elected, and is now the longest standing member on the Gold Mountain CSD Board of Directors. We appreciate his dedication to the Board.
  • Shaun Pairish - elected by the community, we are excited to have a first time Director join the Board to expand the knowledge and experience of the overall board. Please welcome Shaun if you see him out and about.
  • Returning Directors with two-years left of their terms include Kathy Kogge and Jon Gresley to round-out the five person board.

Please join us for a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors to swear-in our new Directors on Friday, December 12th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Check back for the posted Agenda.

2025 Firewise Community Update

Good News from the Firewise Committee Chair, Kathy Kogge:

To our Nakoma Community: I am pleased to announce that all of your efforts inĀ 2025 have contributed to our Firewise USA status being successfully renewed. Our certification is valid through the end of 2026, when we will reapply based on our efforts in 2026. Thank you all for your time and efforts! Great job!

Well #8 Rehabilitation Project

Well #8 has passed all turbidity and water quality testing after a long rehabilitation project. We hope to have the well in operation in early 2026.
