- Tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 23 you can explore “Issues and Challenges in Law Enforcement” from 3 – 6 p.m. in TAMIU’s Student Center room 236. Panelists will explore various topics and share research presentations. It’s free and details are below.
- Also tomorrow, find out about Rhizome@TAMIU, a historic large-scale art installation that will dominate our campus this Spring. It takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.
- Also this week, the Student Emotional and Academic Success Grant will present a lecture from mental performance coach and professional wrestler Aaron Machbitz (AKA Jaxon Stone) on Friday, Jan. 26 from 10 – 11 a.m. in Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall (PLG) 101.
- Our series of free FAFSA Drives, “FAFSA For U,” to help students navigate the new application. The next is Thursday, Jan. 25. Subsequent sessions continue through January, February, and March. Details here.
- Did you know that qualified individuals can get free tax preparation assistance here at TAMIU? The VITA program has IRS-certified tax preparers that can help. See details below and find out more.

Late Registration for Spring 2024 Ends Tuesday
Late registration for TAMIU's Spring 2024 courses continues through Tuesday, Jan. 23 in-person and online via Uconnect.
Undergraduate students can register for up to 18 hours during the Spring semester. Graduate students can earn up to 12 hours during the Spring semester.
TAMIU Continues Free 'FAFSA for U' Sessions on New Application
We're hosting a series of free FAFSA Drives to help students navigate the U.S. Education Department’s new Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Our next drive is happening this Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center Testing Center Lab 201.
TAMIU Artist Talk Tuesday Focuses on Campus' 'Rhizome' Installation, Community Engagement
An upcoming artist talk by Crystal Wagner, visiting professor of Art at TAMIU, will focus on Rhizome, a historic large-scale art installation taking place at TAMIU this semester. Join her art talk this Tuesday to learn more.
V-A-R Guest Speaker Event Happening Friday, Jan. 26
University students are invited to an upcoming guest speaker event by Aaron Machbitz Friday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. in Pellegrino Hall, room 101. The opportunity is made possible through the University's Student Emotional and Academic Success grant, or SEAS.
TAMIU Athletics Update
TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
