Basketball
Basketball fell in the Sectional Final after finishing the regular season 14-8. Highlights from the season included wins over Brush, CVCA, Perrysburg, and VASJ. Senior Alec Congdon scored his 1000th point in the final regular season game. Congdon and Josh Belcher '25 served as team captains.
“Being a part of the US Basketball program for four years has been an incredible journey and a privilege. There have been countless memories made and lessons learned that I will take with me for the rest of my life. These last two years as a member of the Varsity team have allowed me to experience some of the best moments in my US career. From daily practices with my friends, to beating Maple Heights as the extreme underdogs my junior year, to the overnight trips, I feel nothing but blessed to be a part of such a close-knit team that I have bonded with over the last two years.” - Sujay Nalla '25
Hockey
Hockey fell in the Kent Regional Final after defeating Gilmour in a triple overtime thriller in the Regional Semifinals. US finished the season 17-15-2. Ethan Roberts' 25 served as team captain while classmates Gavin Jones '25 and Mitch Langal '25 were assistant captains.
"Playing hockey at US is a far greater honor than just playing the sport itself. The US Hockey Program creates a family where each member is united by their shared love of hockey. Additionally, players are truly connected through the rich history of the program and the deep bonds between current and former players. Respecting each member of the team, and working hard for one another, is what makes the program so successful each year, and it creates a culture where everybody is dedicated to achieving a common goal. Squash
Squash won the program's fourth National Championship, and its first in Division 3, at the Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia. US defeated St. Paul's School (MD) and St. Christopher's School (VA) to advance to the finals where it defeated Conestoga High School (PA). Serving as team captains were Adam Sands '25, Iggy Lahorra ’26, Dan Miklus ’26.
“The US squash team is truly a special community. The lengthy bus rides and late nights created bonds like no other. Each team member showed great dedication to upholding the standard every day. The group quickly became a family that supported each other, not just on the court but also in the classroom. The program allowed me to develop from a mentee needing guidance to a mentor ready to guide. I know that the underclassmen will grow similarly and lead the team to continue its rich tradition.” - Adam Sands ‘25
Swimming & Diving
Swimming and Diving won its fourth consecutive OHSAA Division 2 State Championship in 2025. Senior Quinn MacPhail finished first in the State in the 500 freestyle. Serving as team captains were MacPhail, Brad Perry '25, and Alex Pesek '25.
“Swimming is an individual sport, but it never feels that way when you're a part of the US swim team. From early hours in the weight room to long nights on the pool deck, we support each other every step of the way. I will never forget the memories made and the lessons I learned. Wrestling
Wrestling finished fifth at the Division 2 Sectional Tournament and had four athletes qualify for the District Championship where they finished 26th out of 54 teams. Doyle Grosz '27 qualified for the State Championship as an alternate. Grosz and Chris Fioritto '25 served as team captains.

The long practices, early mornings, and tough matches have pushed me to my limits, but they’ve also helped forge a brotherhood that will last a lifetime.
