Simple Syllabus Accessibility Top 11 Tips for an Accessible Syllabus

Tips to Follow:

  1. Make any section not being used invisible.
  2. Use the paragraph format tool to make headings - keep the headings nested and sequential.
  3. Use descriptive text to link URLs.
  4. Tables need: Heading rows | Table captions | Text filled in for each cell.
  5. Avoid merged cells in tables.
  6. Use the list tool for any list items.
  7. Keep font size at 11pts or higher.
  8. Use the underline tool for links only.
  9. Provide image descriptions for all images.
  10. Any added videos or audio must follow our Media Accessibility guidelines.
  11. Use and clear all accessibility checker issues!

The PDF version, that you can obtain by selecting the print button, is not accessible. Avoid unless printing for students.
