ADMINISTRATOR'S MESSAGE
Dear H.E.B Families, June has arrived, marking an important and meaningful time for our Grade 9 students and their families. This is a significant milestone as students complete their junior high journey, make decisions about their future high school pathways, and prepare to say goodbye to peers and staff at H.E. Beriault Catholic Junior High. We are looking forward to celebrating our Grade 9 students at their farewell event on Friday, June 12. Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Mendiuk and Ms. Turner have been working closely with our parent community to organize what promises to be a memorable evening. Thank you to all parents who have contributed—whether through planning or volunteering your time. Your support helps create a lasting and meaningful experience for our students as they transition to high school. This is a very busy time of year for our staff and students. Teachers are actively supporting students with final exam preparation while also facilitating extracurricular activities, including Bears at Bat and track and field. We are proud to have many students advancing to the City Finals in track and field and wish them the very best as they represent our school at the highest level of competition. We also look forward to recognizing student achievements at our upcoming awards events. The Academic Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, June 22 (afternoon), and the Athletic Awards will be held on June 23 (afternoon). Congratulations to all of our student athletes and to our Grade 9 students—we are incredibly proud of you and will miss you as you move on to high school. I would like to extend sincere thanks to Kyla Mendiuk, Fern Brewer, and Pechias Larbe for their dedication and contributions through Parent Council this year. We are also grateful to all parents who have supported our school community through their involvement—your efforts make a meaningful difference for our students. As we approach the end of the school year, we also wish to recognize several valued staff members who will be moving on from H.E. Beriault:
- Miss Domingo, thank you for your enthusiasm and innovative teaching, which have made a positive impact on both students and staff.
- Mrs. Riendeau will be beginning maternity leave and plans to return in Fall 2027—we wish her all the very best.
- Mrs. Zumbo will be joining St. Hilda School next year—we thank her for her contributions and wish her continued success.
- Ms. Sumaya Ali, our English Language Learner Educator for the past three years, will be greatly missed by students and staff alike.
- Mrs. Rolph-DeVicque will be taking on a new role as Assistant Principal at Archbishop O’Leary High School. Her dedication and behind-the-scenes leadership will be deeply missed at H.E.B.
We wish all of our departing staff the very best in their future endeavors. As final exams approach, we encourage all students to continue working hard and to take pride in demonstrating their learning from this year. Wishing all of our families a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer.
Leon Vandendooren Principal
