Glenboi Primary Newsletter April 2024

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the summer term! This year is flying by and it has been fantastic to see the children engage in so many exciting activities. The fun doesn't stop this term, our children have already been out on trips to St.Fagans and Llancaiach Fawr with another trip to come later in the week. Our topic is called a "Walk through time" and the children in each class will be learning about different time periods and comparing them with each other to see how Wales has changed over the years. In addition to this, our Year 3s and 4s are going swimming all term and our Year 3 children are even having the opportunity to learn the Ukulele! There will also be more sporting opportunities for the children with Sports Day and the rugby coach from Mountain Ash Comprehensive School coming to work with our older children culminating in a tag rugby tournament. Our garden produce is also growing well so keep your eye out for lots of home grown fruit and vegetables appearing in Big Bocs Bwyd a little later in the term. The second half of this term is going to be even busier with activities such as the residential visit, Sports Day and the Summer Fete so we will only be holding one coffee morning this term but all of the children will be singing in it so please come along for coffee, cake and great entertainment. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Powell and Mr Milinczuk

Even though schools meals are now free for pupils in most year groups it is still worth following the instructions on this poster as you can claim extra money for yourself and the school.

If your child is in Year 6 MACS are running a reusable uniform scheme where parents have donated items, these have been washed and repackaged so are as good as new. If this is something that you would like to access please let us know.

Reminder- Payment for all school trips is now online and we won't be able to accept cash for these. These trips form a really important part of your children's education and we subsidise them significantly to ensure that they are affordable. However, they do require your contribution to enable them to go ahead so please make sure you pay for them as soon as possible. If you need any support please contact Miss Beasley or visit our Facebook page for a video demonstrating the process.

Key Dates for Summer Term
All of the children with 98% attendance or more were put into a raffle to win theatre tickets, here are the luck winners! Please make sure that children are in school everyday so they can have the best possible education and be in with a chance to win further prizes.
