COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Help Keep Temple City Clean: A Reminder About Illegal Dumping

Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in illegal dumping throughout Temple City. This includes everything from furniture and appliances left on sidewalks to bags of yard waste and construction debris discarded in alleys or empty lots. We want to remind residents and businesses that dumping items in the public right-of-way or in someone else’s trash bin is illegal and subject to citation.

Proper Bulky Item Disposal

Athens Services offers free bulky item pickup for single-family homes – but only by request. Please do not place bulky items in or next to your trash bins without arranging a pickup. This can interrupt your trash service and create neighborhood blight. To schedule a pickup, visit Athens Services Bulky Item Request or call (888) 336-6100.

If you live in a multi-family property or are a business owner, a one-time bulky item fee may apply. Contact your landlord or property manager if they manage your service.

Hazardous & E-Waste Disposal

These items must be taken to a certified household hazardous waste collection event. L.A. County Public Works hosts free drop-off events throughout the year. Find an upcoming event near you, visit: https://calendar.pw.lacounty.gov/events/

Do Your Part

If you see illegal dumping, report it to the City by calling (626) 285-2171 or reporting online.

Let’s work together to keep Temple City clean, safe, and beautiful!
