Five Home Runs In Five Games

Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies is showing home run power in the National League Championship Series.

Philadelphia beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-1 in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, on the 22nd.

Schwaber's home run hit again. In the sixth inning with a 2-0 lead, he hit Arizona starter Jack Gallen's 81 mile knuckle curve and fired a solo home run over the right-center fence.

Schwarber has already hit five home runs in the Championship Series alone. He had two hits in eight at-bats (one double) in the wild-card game against the Miami Marlins, and was sluggish in the Atlanta Braves and Division Series with two hits in 17 at-bats (a 101.8 batting average).

However, it changed 180 degrees in the Championship Series with Arizona.

In the bottom of the first inning of Game 1, he hit a solo home run over the right fence by swinging Arizona starter Gallen's 92 miles (about 148 kilometers) four-seam fastball. It was his fourth career postseason first inning lead-off home run.

Schwaber, who had his first taste of the postseason this year, exploded with consecutive at-bat home runs in the second game. In the third inning with a 1-0 lead, he hit Arizona starter Merrill Kelly's 92.9-mile (about 150km) four-seam fastball and hit a solo home run over the right-center fence.

He then hit another 88.1-mile (about 142 kilometers) changeup against Kelly in the sixth inning to blast back-to-back home runs with a flying distance of 427 feet (130 meters).

With Schwaber's home run exploding, Philadelphia won both games 1 and 2. Schwaber hit a home run in Game 4 and another home run against Gallen in Game 5. He is hitting five home runs in five games of the Championship Series.

Schwaber, who won the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs, has 12 career home runs in the championship series. He is one shy of Manny Ramirez's record for most home runs (13 home runs) in the Championship Series. Ramirez had 13 home runs in 215 at-bats and Schwaber had 12 home runs in 98 at-bats.

Schwaber also recorded his 20th career home run in the postseason. It is tied for fourth in history. Manny Ramirez (29 home runs) hit the most home runs in the postseason. He was followed by Jose Altuve (Houston, 26 home runs) in second place and Bernie Williams (22 home runs) in third place. Schwaber was named fourth with Derek Jeter (20 home runs).

Schwaber played in 160 games this season, batting average was only .197 (115 hits in 585 at-bats), but recorded 47 home runs, 104 RBIs and OPS .817. The number of home runs (47) was similar to that of single hits (48). He hit more than 45 home runs for the second consecutive year following his batting average of .218 and 46 home runs last year. The hitting accuracy is poor, but the power is great. If you get caught, you'll pass.

In the Championship Series, Schwaber has a batting average of 41-2 (7 hits in 17 at-bats), five home runs, five RBIs, eight runs, a 1.353 slugging percentage, and an OPS of 1.898. Along with five home runs, the batting average in the .400 range is even more amazing. 스포츠토토
