(NEW) Boosterthon
WE DID IT! Our Boosterthon Fundraiser was a success thanks to our JB Families! We raised over $10,000 which will be used to purchase a Book Vending Machine! Boosterthon will keep the online donation platform open until next Thursday for any additional donations! THANK YOU!
(NEW) IREAD-3
IREAD-3 testing will begin this week for our 2nd and 3rd grade students. Please note the schedule below. Attendance is KEY for testing. While we are able to make-up the test, we find students are more successful when they test with their class. Thank you!
- Monday, March 4th-Wednesday, March 6th (Batton, King and Wickham's classes)
- Thursday, March 7th-Friday, March 8th (All 2nd grade classes)
- Monday, March 11th-Wednesday, March 13th (Leininger and Dickey's classes)
IREAD-3 Tips
- Plenty of sleep! Be make sure students are getting a good night's sleep
- A healthy breakfast
- Try to keep routines the same, avoiding hectic mornings and evenings is helpful for calm minds for testing
- Lots of praise and encouragement for students to give their best effort
(REMINDER) SNACKS
Each classroom at JB has a designated snack time to help our students stay fueled for the school day! Please send in a healthy snack with your child each day. You can also send in bulk items to share with the class, we are always appreciative of donations.
(Reminder) Kindergarten Enrollment for 2024-2025
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open! Any child who will turn 5 years old on or before August 1, 2024 is eligible to register! Registration is key to ensuring you are receiving important communication from your home elementary school on next steps to start your child's education journey. Please help us spread the word!
JBS Kindergarten Round-Up Dates: April 15 & 17 from 3:00pm-6:00pm (appointments required) Information on how to set up an appointment for your child will be sent via email to families who register.
Family Literacy Learning Corner (reminder)
School Dismissal Manager (reminder)
All school dismissal changes now go through School Dismissal Manager. You do NOT need to call the office if you put your change/absence in the APP. You should receive a confirmation email from SDM with your update.
IPADS (reminder)
This year, student iPads will be turned off from the hours of 7:00pm-6:00am, as they are not needed for instructional purposes during this time. Please be sure and charge iPads each night and limit use of them for non-school purposes. Thanks for your help!
J.B WAY (reminder)
Our JB Way is our expectations of students. We expect JB Cougars to be Respectful, Responsible and Kind! When we "catch" students following the JB Way, they are recognized by earning a Cougar Buck. Students also earn a Cougar Buck each day they are at school. They can then cash those bucks in for small prizes and fun coupons. Big thanks to our PTO for sponsoring the prizes!

- Doors Open: 7:30am
- Tardy Bell: 7:45am
- Breakfast (optional/paid): 7:30am-7:45am (if your child is eating breakfast at school, please be sure to get them to school by 7:30am, so they have plenty of time to eat)
- Dismissal: 2:10pm
Volunteer Form (reminder)
If you're interested in volunteering this school year, attending field trips, etc, all volunteers must complete a Volunteer Profile application, found by clicking here, before volunteering. This form must be completed each school year. We look forward to having you at JB!

- 4/15/24: ILEARN testing window opens (3rd grade only)
E-learning Days: Students do not come to school, but complete online assignments at home, while teachers are in Professional Development.
