Homes for Good is looking for a Rent Assistance Director to lead essential housing programs and help build a stronger, more stable future for our community.

THE JOB

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Rent Assistance Director supports Homes for Good’s mission by providing strategic, operational and people-centered leadership to a team of professionals delivering essential housing stability services.

This position assumes full responsibility for the administration of Homes for Good's voucher-based subsidy rental assistance programs including tenant based Housing Choice Vouchers, Project Based Housing Choice Vouchers, Emergency Housing Vouchers, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Vouchers, Mainstream Vouchers, Family Youth Initiative Vouchers and a state funded Long Term Rent Assistance Vouchers.

WHO WE ARE

Homes for Good Housing Agency is the Public Housing Authority (PHA) for Lane County, Oregon. Our primary work is to help low-income community members with the logistics of affordable housing. At a higher level, we are neighbors united to get every Lane County resident who needs help into a home.

Our programs provide housing and rental assistance to over 5,000 households in Lane County through voucher-based subsidies and Agency-owned public, multi-family and affordable housing communities.

OUR RENT ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT

In addition to the Rent Assistance Director, the team consists of approximately thirty (30) team members including two (2) Rent Assistance Program Managers who play a a critical role in ensuring individuals and families in Lane County can access and maintain safe, stable housing.

The team administers federal, state, and local rent assistance programs including tenant based vouchers and works closely with community partners to ensure our work aligns with the needs of those we serve.

WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR THE TEAM

The Rent Assistance Director provides strategic, operational, and people-centered leadership to a team of professionals delivering essential housing stability services. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of rent assistance programs, ensuring compliance with complex funding requirements, and driving continuous improvement across customer service, data systems, and program outcomes.

WHAT YOU'LL BE ENTRUSTED WITH:

  • Directing overall operations of rental assistance programs, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Representing Homes for Good to the community and maintaining strong professional relationships with community partners.
  • Supervising, coaching, and supporting Rent Assistance Program Managers and administrative staff.
  • Monitoring changing program rules and funding scenarios.
  • Directing the preparation of funding applications four housing programs and grants.
  • Developing & implementing policies, procedures and program improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the minimum experience, education, licensure and/or certifications for someone to be successful in the position. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

EXPERIENCE

At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in social services, public administration or a similar field. At least four (4) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience is highly preferred.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate will likely have a four-year college or university degree with major course social services, public administration or a related field.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

This position is required to occasionally drive Agency vehicles in the course of work. Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid State of Oregon vehicle driver's license and be insurable at standard rates is required for this role.

SALARY RANGE

$107,874.21 - $144,566.41 annually

Homes for Good determines starting pay within the range based on relevant education and experience.

Incumbent must reside within the State of Oregon and be able to report onsite as needed in Eugene, Oregon to meet business needs.
