HOLIDAY SHOP
Dear Riffenburgh Families, This year will be our last Annual Holiday Shop. As volunteer support has declined, the PTO has had to make the tough decision to reduce the number of events that we host. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has helped make this tradition so meaningful over the years- let's make this final shop one to remember! Like last year, we hope to be able to give every student an opportunity to shop. If you do NOT want your child to shop, even with donated funds, please contact their teacher to let them know ahead of time. The Holiday Shop will be held December 11th and 12th. If you are available to volunteer any amount of time at this final holiday shop, we would love to have you. You can always indicate in the comments times you are available if you can't attend a full timeslot, and of course, you can sign up for more than one! Please note that the class schedule will be added to the sign up once teachers are finished signing up for their times. Sign up below:
Thank you for your continued support of Riffenburgh and helping to keep these traditions alive as long as we have. Warmly, Riffenburgh PTO

News from the Health Office
As we enter our Fall and Winter seasons, we often see increased illnesses in our students. Just a friendly reminder, please do not send your child to school if they are feeling ill. Several symptoms such as Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever of 100.4 or greater, Flu-like symptoms, and Respiratory viruses are reasons for students to stay home, and they may not return to school until 24 hours after their last symptom and without using fever-reducing medications.
Any medications, whether prescription or over the counter, that your student may need at school must have a signed order from your doctor, this includes cough drops, ointments & eye drops. We have been seeing several cough drops at school and medications in backpacks.
Please reach out to the Health Office, 970-488-7941, with any questions.
Thank you for keeping all of our students healthy & safe.

SRO CORNER - November 2025
Dear PSD Families,
Keeping students and staff safe is always our top priority. Just as students learn academics step by step, we also take time to practice safety drills. We want everyone to know what to do and can respond calmly if the need arises. We understand that hearing about these drills can sometimes feel unsettling, but they are an important way we help students and staff be prepared and confident in any situation.
In Poudre School District, every school holds a monthly evacuation drill (what most of us grew up calling a ‘fire drill’). Each school also participates in three lockdown drills throughout the year, with some schools choosing to practice more often. These drills are short, calm, and age-appropriate so students know what to do without creating unnecessary fear. All of our schools follow the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), developed by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. This system uses common language, such as Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter – so staff and students know exactly what to do in different situations. Staff members in Poudre School District have had additional training in the SRP, and they practice regularly to ensure your child’s safety is always a top priority.
These drills are about preparation, not fear. We want to help the students feel prepared and confident. It is like buckling our seatbelt… we hope we never need it, but it is there to keep us safe if we do.
Safety is a team effort! At home, you can help by listening to your child’s questions after a drill and letting them share what they practiced. This helps students feel prepared and in control. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about your school’s safety. We are here to help.
Thank you and stay safe,
SRO Dave Wilson
