Reading Girls' School newsletter - 19 january 2024

Principal's message:

As part of our Personal Development Curriculum, students now have timetabled PSHE lessons, which will cover matters such as how to develop positive relationships, how to live healthily - looking after themselves physically and mentally, how to avoid unnecessary risks and how to keep themselves safe on social media, to name but a few. In addition, we continue to deliver drop down days, which enables us to bring in specialists to discuss with students matters around healthy choices. Do speak to your daughters about what they are learning in PSHE.

Our Parents tab on the website also provides useful information for parents and carers regarding supporting their child in their personal development matters. It provides useful information regarding how to support your child making the right choices when accessing social media (see the E-Safety page), how to use the internet wisely, and how to set clear guidelines for children regarding the use of social media. We will continue to update this page for parents, so please do have a look. If parents have any concerns regarding their child's wellbeing, do not hesitate to contact their Head of Year, and they will be able to ascertain whether we have the support that is needed in school, or work with you to ensure that you are able to access other agencies who will be able to provide the early help that might be needed.

I wish you all a restful weekend.
