Students Participate in Hands-on, Experiential Programming

Each year students engage in programming that promotes academic, social, and personal growth. It's a great opportunity to work with students on a grade-based level through hands-on, experiential topics that are developmentally appropriate that would be challenging to deliver through a regular classroom setting.

For one day in February, the entire school paused to enjoy these grade-level activities. The ninth grade headed to nearby Whaleback Mountain for a day of skiing, sophomores worked with the staff from the Tracy Health Center to learn CPR, juniors took time to think about the road to college with the Office of College Advising, and the senior class pondered ethical dilemmas with the help of guests from our alumni and parent communities.

"Ethics Day provides our seniors with a front-row seat to the ethical dilemmas inherent in the adult and professional world, transforming the lessons learned throughout their four-year journey into tangible, real-world experiences. A culminating event in our social-emotional learning on The Hilltop, it not only imparts invaluable insights but also serves as a bridge connecting our alumni with current students. -Alexis Liston '04, Dean of Community Life

It's All Fun and Games at Winter Carnival

The annual Winter Carnival is a cherished tradition where, thankfully, everyone is left out in the cold.

At Winter Carnival we want everyone to enjoy each other's company, and bring the community together in a way that celebrates where we are and the joy we find in having fun together. - Scott Winham P'25, Director of Campus Life

Remembering John Pierce Cotton

The KUA community was saddened to learn of the passing of the Academy’s 15th Headmaster, John Pierce Cotton, who died peacefully in his home in Maine on January 27 at the age of 86.
