Another win for Alwen!

Congratulations to Alwen for working together to win tokens for being ready, respectful and safe.

Alwen's Own Clothes Day will be Tuesday 21st January.

One of our brilliant young pupils, Charlie, bravely spoke to the whole school during Wednesday's assembly and told us about one of his friends, who is also a teammate for Mynydd Isa U-7 football team.

Unfortunately his friend, Oliver, has had a stroke so Charlie has decided to do a sponsored walk up Moel Famau to raise funds to help his friend.

Our Head Boys and Girls decided that school should have, in exchange for a donation, an own clothes day on Friday 17th January, and all donations raised will go towards sponsoring Charlie on his walk up Moel Famau.

A huge diolch yn fawr for all of your support with this. We raised a total of £184.

Now that our Year 6 House Captains are established, we will be holding elections for our School Council and Eco Council on Wednesday 29th January. Children who would like to apply for the roles can prepare a speech/letter on why they would be good for the role.

School council applications are open to children in Reception to Year 5.

Eco council applications are open to children in Reception to Year 6.

We’re super excited to celebrate Eisteddfod this year! The fun kicks off on Monday 17th February, and wraps up with an amazing all-singing, all-dancing finale on Friday 21st February.

The Eisteddfod is a great chance for our children to showcase their creativity and talents. Therefore, we will be running a range of fun, cross-curricular competitions. Some of these will happen in school, but there are plenty that the children can work on or enter from home too. Just make sure all entries are brought to school by Friday 14th February, at the latest.

Kids Club is hoping to open over February half-term.

If anyone is interested in their child(ren) attending, could they please register their interest by Friday 24th January. Diolch.
