Hawkeyes Pop Cornhuskers Iowa blasts Nebraska 40-16 and takes 10 of the last 11 games in the Heroes Game series

1st Half

On Thanksgiving Day, Aaron Graves's wife Aubrey gave birth to the couple's first child. Aaron flew to Lincoln late Thursday night after son Grayson was born. He made the Hawkeyes first tackle of the game. "I told the D-line in the huddle before the first drive, 'Guys, I did not leave my baby in the hospital to lose this game so we better come out firing on all cylinders,'" Graves said during the post game press conference. Aaron promptly made the first tackle of the game for the Hawkeyes.

Kamari Moulton scores the second touchdown of the day for the Hawkeyes. The 2nd quarter TD culminated a 10 play, 75-yard drive put the Hawkeyes up 17-13.

While the Huskers were kicking field goals, the Hawkeyes execute the "Gronowski Plowski" for the touchdown and extend lead 24-16 at the half.

2nd Half

A pivotal moment in the game came in the 3rd quarter when Karson Sharar forced a fumble on a punt return. The ball rolled into the end zone and was recovered by Nebraska and scored as a Safety for the Hawkeyes.

The safety gave the Hawkeyes a 26-16 lead.

The Hawkeyes weren't finished yet. Mark Gronowski takes a shot to WR Reece Vander Zee who hauls in a one-handed grab 27 yards to the Nebraska 1 yard line.

Kamari Moulton runs to the right 1 yard for the touchdown.

Hawkeyes defeat Nebraska 40-16.

Dominance

The Hawkeyes win over Nebraska was the 10th out of the last 11 games played in the series and the 7th in a row on the road at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
