As mentioned in last week's newsletter, each class teacher is sending out a form to parents (linked below) to help us get to know the children a bit better.
There are 3 questions - you don't have to answer all of them if there's only one you feel is important to respond to. The questions are:
What do others like and admire about your child? What are their strengths?
What is important to your child? e.g. family, friends, interests, hobbies
What is important for your child? e.g. what helps them, what makes a difference when supporting them?

PTFA

Don't forget the PTFA are holding their AGM tomorrow after school, and all parents are welcome. The meeting will be in the staff room or canteen (depending on how many attend). Staff will be available to look after children of those attending - please collect them as normal and then hand them over to Miss Wills who will be at the Girls' Entrance Door signing them in (as we do for breakfast club) and then they will go up to the hall.
Reading & Numeracy Interventions
Finally, in the newsletter last week I said that teachers would email parents to let them know if their children will be receiving interventions by the end of this week. I'm sorry, this is now going to be Wednesday next week as it's taking a little longer than anticipated to complete assessments before we can timetable.
This term's topics
Teachers are also discussing the term's new topics with children and will shortly be sending out their topic plans and a form to parents to gather your suggestions - we really do appreciate all responses as sometimes parents have ideas / local knowledge that we can incorporate and wouldn't necessarily know about with out this input. We can't necessarily incorporate all ideas as I'm sure you'll appreciate that the topic can get quite full and time is limited.
Pantomime - Blackwood Miner's Christmas 2024 Years 1 - 6
At the end of last term parents were surveyed about booking a pantomime trip this year. Some responses to a parent questionnaire last year indicated that this trip was not valued and so it was put to the vote. We had 48 responses to the survey (which is a lot more than we usually get) & 46 responses (96%) voted yes, therefore we have booked the trip for Years 1 - 6 for the last week of term. A letter will go out after half term confirming the final price including transport.
