Another big day of 28km and close to 500m ascent but much easier to tackle with cooler temperatures and cloud cover. We also finally shook-off the Bilbao metropolis and found the coastline once again.
It was a bit of a mixed bag with some super nice cycleways and coastal paths along with some not so pleasant road walking.
We have been pleasantly impressed by our final destination of Castro Urdiales, a beautiful coastal town just down the road from Bilbao. The town sports an old medieval castle now transformed into a lighthouse and the Gothic church of Santa Maria.
Our accommodation is just out of town, so after a freshen up we all headed into town where we were treated with a local choir singing in the large Gothic church before sitting down for dinner.
