Cincinnati joined the Big 12 on July 1, 2023. In the program's second season in the conference, UC had 13 podium finishes at the 2025 indoor conference championships and 20 at the 2025 outdoor conference championships
Cincinnati competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 118 conference titles.
ALL-AMERICAN HISTORY
45 Different Bearcats have combined to earn 87 All-America honors in program history. Most recently, Cincinnati earned a program record five individual outdoor All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while four athletes claimed All-America honors during indoor campaign.
At the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships: Amanda Ngandu Ntumba (5th, Discus) and Fred Moudani-Likibi (8th, Shot Put) earned First Team All America Honors, while Juliette Laracuente-Huebner (11th, Pentathlon), Ryan Rieckmann (13th, Javelin) and Macaela Walker (16th, 400m Hurdles) claimed Second Team All-America Honors.
At the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships: Justin Abrams (8th, Heptathlon) and Fred Moudani-Likibi (6th, Shot Put) earned First Team All America Honors, while Astley Davis (14th, Triple Jump) and Abby Knouff (11th, Pole Vault) claimed Second Team All-America Honors.

- Al Lanier and Adrian Valles are the most decorated men's UC athletes in program history. Both earned six All-America honors during their careers, and both finished as national runner-ups in their respective events.

- Annette Echikunwoke won the programs first natitonal title in 2017 (indoor weight throw)
- Loretta Blout's six career All-American honors made her the most decorated UC women's track and field athlete in program history
BEARCAT OLYMPIANS
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Annette Echikunwoke donned the red, white and blue for Team USA as she secured silver in the hammer throw for America, while Naquille Harris (St. Kitts and Nevis) and Chris Borzor (Haiti) ran in the 100m for their respective countries.
A pair of Bearcat greats not only represented the United States at the Olympic Games but also captured medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Mary (Danner) Wineberg was a part of the gold-medal winning 4x400m relay team, and David Payne earned a silver medal in the 110m hurdles.

The Bearcats have produced one national champion, 178 total men’s conference champions, including 98 individual titles, and 86 total women’s conference champions, with 57 of those earned individually.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The University of Cincinnati Athletics Department proudly recorded a department-best 3.52 GPA for the spring semester—marking its fifth consecutive term above a 3.4. Five programs—football, women’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s soccer, and women’s swimming and diving—set new team GPA records, led by football at 3.48. Men’s golf (3.87) and women’s soccer (3.83) posted the highest individual team GPAs among men’s and women’s sports, respectively. Across the department, 348 of UC’s 450 student-athletes (85 percent) earned at least a 3.0 GPA, a new all-time high.
Sixty-nine Bearcats achieved a perfect 4.0 to receive TopCat honors, while 274 earned Dean’s List recognition with a GPA of 3.4 or higher. This marks the 34th consecutive grading period with a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better and the 15th in a row above a 3.3.
