June 2024 Inspiration yoga, essential oils & goodness

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.” ― Roy T. Bennett

Happy June!

Dear Friends,

Happy June! I hope that you are welcoming in the changing season and whatever joy that brings into your world. My backyard is looking fabulous and I am loving all the outdoor time. I am also loving my vegetable garden and look forward to a bounty of harvest this year. I am all planted and now the practice of patience begins. For me, I tend to struggle with the process of patience so this is a really good thing for me.

My studio is open for a weekly Monday evening class and that is always so fun. I have had a few open spots lately so be sure to grab a spot when you scroll down to the schedule because spaces fill incredibly fast. I am also offering Yoga in the park on Saturdays this month at 9am! This month we are going to be diving into the idea of INSPIRE and looking at who and what inspires each of us. As we look closer at that idea we can start to look at making subtle changes into our own life to in turn begin to INSPIRE others.

Inspiring others to live the best life even when things are challenging is so fun. The last couple years I have chosen to give random people packets of flower seeds. What a joyful thing that was to see people smile! I want to continue to sprinkle goodness and inspiration into the lives of others this month. I believe small acts of goodness can have a powerful impact on the world, little by little.

We are half way through the year and it is a great time to check in with your intention you set way back in January. I chose to have a little equanimity in my life. It has been an interesting process for me and I have been challenged with many opportunities to remain steady and unwavering. All of the crazy hip surgery complications this year has offered me some lessons around facing hard things and remaining balanced. I have also had some new work opportunities and have had to navigate that bravely. It is all good, but I think I am good and could use a little break.

If your intention this year was to ramp up your health, watch for a great series that I will be offering in July that will take us back to the basics of health and wellness in all areas of our life. This will include information on mindfulness, taking control of our choices, yoga and meditation, nutrition, getting brave, and so much more. Also, I am always looking for a few referrals so if you love what I do, please feel free to pass on this newsletter with someone you think might discover something new in their life.

Enjoy this new month and all the growth that June brings. Take lots of walks, bike rides, or sit for hours on a porch swing and soak in the summer air. And of course find ways to INSPIRE others.

Much love,

Stacie

This will be a practice of circular energy and a chance breathe fresh air into the panoramic view of your own body.

Wellness Education

I have been following some really cool and creative young women on instagram and I am so inspired by their simple life. I have learned how to bake sourdough bread, make soap, create amazing digital content, and more. The thing that I recently learned that was SO FUN was taking the existing and gorgeous lilac bushes and making LILAC JELLY! It is delicious, pretty and was so fun to make.

I don't have any wellness education planned this month because I challenge you to simply TRY learning something new.

As you learn new skills, you’ll discover more gifts about yourself and improve your confidence and sense of well-being. You can also positively affect others with your new skills.

Reasons to learn a new skill

It gives you motivation. A new hobby or skill can give you the motivation you need to get out of bed in the morning. During this pandemic, most of us are spending more time at home and are physically isolated from many loved ones. This can take a toll on our mental health. Learning a new language, practicing an instrument or tending to an herb garden can give you energy, joy and a sense of purpose.

It helps beat boredom. Doing the same thing every day can get boring and sap your zest for life. While trying something new requires more effort than turning on the TV, the benefits are numerous.

It boosts confidence. If you engage in a new skill, you’re going to thicken the brain’s prefrontal cortex. As you develop a new skill, you’ll gain courage and confidence, which helps you override fear and anxiety. You’ll feel more empowered.

It keeps you healthy. Learning is great for your brain at every age. As you take on a new skill, the mind begins to reshape itself because the physical brain is malleable. Previously, it was thought that it was only malleable until adolescence. However, now the research shows it can keep changing throughout our lives and for the better, so you have fewer fear responses and a more positive mindset.

It helps you be flexible. By consistently educating yourself and trying new things, you’ll learn you’re capable of change and growth, which keeps you open to new opportunities in life. Learning a new skill can get you out of a rut. If you don’t learn new skills, you can start to wither a bit mentally and physically because you’re falling victim to the same habits and mindsets again and again.

It can benefit others. Think about how your new hobby or skill can help others at work, at home or in your community.

It can boost your happiness. When you learn a new skill, you increase your level of happiness. It was thought for a long time that a person’s baseline happiness couldn’t be lifted. It turns out that you can keep influencing your level of happiness. As you learn a new skill, you can boost it. You won’t be euphoric all the time, but you’ll lift your sense of well-being.

Essential Oils

Many of you know that I use and rely on essential oils to maintain the health of my mind, body, and spirit. I use them throughout my home from cleaning, for pain management, energy, sleep, mood and much more. One of my favorite things is helping others get started using natural remedies and plant medicine.

Once you decide to get started, you will get an awesome welcome package from me, access to my VIP community group, education and mentoring, a free wellness coaching session and much more. It is easy to get started! I am also happy to chat personally with you to create the perfect options for your needs.

DIY

Typical household cleaning tasks expose our lungs to strong chemical agents. Compounds like sodium hypochlorite (bleach), hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide are commonly found mixed together in various cleaning products and have been shown to cause asthma-like symptoms in people who do not have asthma or allergies. However, until recently, these symptoms had been identified only after short-term exposure, and there had not been information available regarding the impact of these chemicals over time.

Some of my favorite DIY cleaning recipes are easy, affordable and no strong chemicals. Check out a few of my favorites.

Wisdom from a Sunflower

If I were a flower... I would be a sunflower. To always follow the sun. Turn my back to darkness, stand proud, tall and straight even with my head full of seeds.

1) DREAMS START SMALL. I held a sunflower seed in my hand and felt the beauty inside wanting to come out. I want to believe this is true of most people -- that there is a beauty inside that wants to come out.

2) FACE THE SUN. I know that the best way to grow is with light and love. I reminded myself that facing the sun, or the light, is a good way to ensure I'm taking actions that are aligned with my higher purpose.

3) GROW BIG. The way a sunflower grows is this: She grows from the stalk -- her neck. The only way a sunflower gets big is by literally sticking her neck out again and again and again.

4) LET MYSELF BE BEAUTIFUL. I've never heard a sunflower complain about a bent stem, petals too long, or a center too fat. I asked myself to let myself shine, shine, shine!

5) CENTER MYSELF EVERY DAY. A sunflower grows on one side of her stalk and then on the other side of her stalk. Often at the end of a day, one side of her stem is longer than the other. This is why a sunflower can be bent to one side. For me, I take this to mean making time to breathe, sleep, eat good food and be still.

Thank You

So many of you have been so supportive of me over the last few years. As my business continually changes with the needs of the community, I am so blessed that I can continue to share my passion and touch your life. I hope you know that you are very important to me and I am incredibly grateful that our paths have crossed. I believe that now more than ever, we need to recognize the people and meaningful connections that we all have and nurture each other.

As always, it is my hope that you stay healthy and happy in your mind, body and spirit.

Much love and light to you!
