Chase's CGD Portfolio Computer Graphic Design - Chase McFeaters

The Sleepless City

I created a postcard about New York City, inspired by its culture. Throughout this project, I learned a lot about all of New York City's places and the basics of Photoshop, like how to use drop shadows, layer styles, and a whole lot more. My goal for the project was to create a postcard that captures the essence of the city. The project is quite good overall, but the depth and colors are lacking. I hope my audience will feel like they are seeing a real postcard when they see my project.

Family Reunion Movie Poster

This piece is a movie poster that only uses the colors green, black, purple, and red. During this project, I learned about changing images into a few specific colors and also learned a lot about typography. My goal for this project was to make a good-looking screen print movie poster. I feel like this is one of my favorite projects because the concept is cool and the images make the entire thing pop. I hope my audience will see a good movie poster and either wonder how I did it or have the inspiration to try to do it for themselves.

Flame Tempers Knowledge

This piece is a book cover for Fahrenheit 451. I learned about how to use layers to create a sense of depth and I also learned a lot about typography. My goal with this book cover was to make a cover that has flames burning through the front of the book. I feel like this is my best piece, and I love how I accomplished my goal. I hope my audience will be interested in the cover, potentially to the point that they will read the book.

Crushed by the Curve

This piece is meant to be about how a school's weight is ridiculously large on a student. In this project, I learned how to use layer masks and attempted to improve and incorporate shadows. I wanted to effectively communicate the weight of school. I feel like everything but the shadows and color matching went well. I hope my audience will be able to feel that they are seeing a real image.
