Low Cuts Book Review By bradley shen

The Low Cuts Review, by Bradley Shen

Recently, as a school assigned book, I read the chapter: The Low Cuts Strike Again, which is a chapter from the book Look Both Ways (fiction) by Jason Reynolds.

The chapter was very fun to read and the plot was always very unpredictable which kept me excited to keep reading the book. I was so wrapped up in the book that I almost forgot to actively read, which to those who do not know, it means writing notes in the book. The book is centered around four friends, each who have cancer survivor parents, and all of these friends do not have that much money because all the money went to help their parents overcome their diseases. The chapter spends time explaining how they work together with each other to get by with their minimal finance, and how they relate with each other and help each other solve problems.

Overall, I really liked this chapter, and also how Jason Reynolds used many exotic words to make the chapter even more fun to read. The name “Low Cuts” is also very creative, because it helps represent Cancer survivors and those who are currently fighting cancer or some other disease that makes people lose hair. The only two downsides are that the chapter was a little confusing at first, and it was hard to follow along but other than that, I would definitely recommend this chapter to people who are interested in a fun short read with a very good plot.
